Throwing it back to the Signature Adult Program Class of 2016! 🎉

Members of the Class of 2016 reunited this week at Purpose Brew Works in Chesterland to catch up, reminisce, and reconnect after 10 years!

And a fun connection for Leadership Geauga - we’re proud to have our very own Executive Director, Meredith Ashkettle, LG ’16, as a member of this class!

It’s always great to see the connections made through Leadership Geauga continue years after the program ends.

We’re excited to welcome 41 new participants to this year’s class! The Class of 2027 officially kicks off on September 11, and we can’t wait to see what the next 10 months have in store for them.

Celebrate Women’s Equality Day with a special piece of Geauga County history!

Today, Wednesday, August 26, at 6 p.m., South Newbury Union Chapel - National Register of Historic Places will dedicate an Ohio Historical Marker honoring the Centennial Oak.

We’re especially excited to see this come to fruition thanks to Dr. Bari Stith, our amazing historian from Leadership Geauga’s History Day tours, who has been instrumental in making this historical marker a reality!

Following the ceremony, guests can explore the historic Union Chapel grounds, take a tour and learn about the chapel’s resident bat colony with the Geauga Park District, and visit information tables featuring Union Chapel, the Geauga Park District archaeological dig, and the League of Women Voters of Geauga.

🪑 Seating is limited, but lawn space is available - bring your own chair or blanket!
🚐 Overflow parking is available at Faith Baptist Church, 12010 Snow Road, with shuttle service to and from the chapel through 9 p.m.

Participants explore the county through behind-the-scenes experiences, conversations with local leaders, and opportunities to discover organizations and resources they may not have known about. We’re just three weeks away from our annual Meet the Class of 2027 & Alumni Mixer on Friday, September 11, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at Munson Township Hall.

🌟 Alumni Volunteer Spotlight: Stephanie Anderson 🌟

Meet Stephanie Anderson, a graduate of Leadership Geauga’s Signature Adult Program Class of 2024, who continues to give her time and talents to the Leadership Geauga community.

Stephanie had followed Leadership Geauga for several years before deciding to get involved. She was drawn to the opportunity to connect with engaged, growth-minded community members, deepen her understanding of Geauga County, and collaborate with others who share a passion for making a positive impact.

Since graduating, Stephanie has remained involved as a member of the Youth Committee and a Youth Mentor, supporting the next generation of young leaders in our community.

Stephanie is the Founding Attorney of Anderson Legal Services, LLC. Outside of work and Leadership Geauga, she enjoys gardening and creating bouquets to share with family and friends. She is also an avid reader, has served as a Sunday School teacher at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge for five years, and serves on the Board of Directors of WomenSafe, Inc., the Green House.

When asked about her favorite part of Geauga County, Stephanie highlighted something that goes beyond a specific place - the county's incredible network of nonprofit organizations and the dedicated people working every day to support their community.

We’re grateful for Stephanie’s continued leadership, service, and commitment to helping young people and strengthening the Geauga County community.

Meredith and Amy have been on the road! 🚗💨

With the Heritage Program for Retirees fall session just around the corner, we’ve been out in the community sharing more about the program and connecting with those interested in joining us this fall.

Yesterday, the Geauga County Department on Aging hosted us at the Geauga County Administration Building, where we shared more about the Heritage Program, what participants can expect this fall, and answered questions from attendees.

A special thank you to Tamee Tucker, LG Heritage 2024, for joining us and sharing her personal experience with the program!

⛳ Last night, we gathered at Mangia Mangia for a special thank you dinner for the committee members who helped make our Third Annual Leadership Geauga Golf Outing such a success!

A huge thank you to Jon, Anissa, Kim, Susan, Jarred, and Nick, along with Danielle and Denny, who aren’t pictured, for your time, ideas, coordination, and all the behind-the-scenes work that went into planning and running the outing.

We spent the evening talking about what went well, what we can improve, and - of course - how we can make next year’s outing even better. We’re already looking forward to making our next one our best golf outing yet!

We’re so grateful for this team and everything they do to support Leadership Geauga.
