At our next MomCo meeting weโll hear from guest speaker, Rev. Donna Holder.
A little more about Rev. Holder: She became a member of Woodlake UMC in 1989. She and her husband, Ken, raised three children, Ryan, Lauren, and Patrick, in this church and community. After a first career in the financial services industry, Donna felt a call to ministry in the church. In 2001, she became Woodlake UMCโs first Associate Pastor, leaving in 2010 to be the senior pastor of Westover Hills UMC, where she served for 14 years. Along the way, she earned a Leadership and Organizational Development Masterโs Degree and became a credentialed Life/Leadership coach, and is now appointed by our bishop to the ministry of coaching. Her specialty is working with younger women, primarily women clergy, for their well-being and success in life and ministry. Donna has two grandchildren, Finn and Rory, and two dogs, Blaze and Kona. She enjoys hiking, skiing, reading, doing 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles, beach walking, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
Sheโs going to lead us through a mini coaching session.
What is coaching?
Coaching is based on neuroscience and positive psychology. A coach is a listening partner who helps a person come to deeper awareness and clarity, helping clients to move forward in the ways that they want. A coach does not give advice or share wisdom, but through a process of questions and observations helps a client come to their own answers and ways forward. A coach believes that each person is whole, creative, and resourceful and has the answers for their own life. ๐ฅฐ
