VJ Mancuso Memorial Fund VJ's Fund is a non for profit 501(c)(3) charity helping children & families in need. Louis Children’s Hospital, St. Ambrose Church & School and Temple Israel.

The VJ Mancuso Memorial Fund, a 501(c)(3) non for profit organization founded in the memory of VJ Mancuso who courageously lost his battle of a severe congenital heart defect known as Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). This fund is dedicated to supporting children with special needs, helping organizations, individuals and families that made VJ’s short time in this world a full and happy life

. Some of following beneficiaries include: Early Childhood Center of the Rockwood School District, the children, families and nurses at St. At the VJ Mancuso Memorial Fund, we raise money to enable children with special needs to learn with the same abilities of all children. We empower teachers with equipment and resources to achieve these goals. We offer resources to children, families and nurses at the Children’s hospital to help care for these special children during the most difficult times of their lives and inspire people to learn, laugh and love as VJ did. We have faith and hope that the efforts put forth from this organization will help support children, families and honor the legacy of VJ Mancuso.

VJ Mancuso Memorial Fund is always proud to support Rockwood Parents as Teachers - a big congratulations to Barbara on winning the Mary Wanzel Excellence in Education Award.

On Friday, our very own Barbara Rogers was awarded the Mary Wanzel Excellence in Education Award!

Barbara is truly dedicated to the Rockwood Early Childhood Program and has been for the last 33 years. Her work with PAT exemplifies everything this award is about and we are so happy she received this well deserved recognition!

Here is information about the Mary Wanzel Excellence in Education Award.

Mary was a beloved Early Childhood teacher in Rockwood who taught from 1987-1995 and passed away suddenly at a young age. Mary was a teacher in every sense of the word. She instilled a love of learning in every child. She made learning fun. She was famous for her ability to recycle materials for teaching opportunities. Mary saw strengths in every child and went out of her way to make each child feel special. In an effort to honor her dedication and love of children and keep her spirit alive, the Mary Wanzel Excellence in Education Award was created.

This individual must have demonstrated:
-Commitment as seen through outstanding “on job performance.”
-Human Relations Skills seen through supporting co-workers, parents and children
-Dedication working to promote and support the ideals, mission and growth of the Rockwood Early Childhood Program
