It's the final day of our 4v4 Tournament, and we can't wait to see everyone back at the rink as we continue supporting local youth hockey players and their immediate families who have been affected by cancer.

We are also honored to celebrate our 4 incredible Guests of Honor throughout today's event.

💜🏒 SUMMER SHOWDOWN DONATION UPDATE! 🏒💜

We are officially halfway through the STL Youth Hockey Fights Cancer Summer 4v4 Showdown, and the competition is heating up both on the ice and in fundraising!

🥇 Team Orange is currently leading the donation race! 🧡

In addition to competing for tournament bragging rights, each team is battling to see which team can raise the most money for STL Youth Hockey Fights Cancer. Every dollar raised helps support local youth hockey players and their immediate families affected by cancer.

The STL Youth Hockey Fights Cancer 4v4 Tournament kicks off tonight at Maryville University Hockey Center, and we would love to see you there!

Our last Guest of Honor is Katie York and we’re honored to share her story!

My life changed in 2019 when I learned I haveLynch syndrome, a hereditary condition that greatly increases the risk of several cancers. I knew it meant cancer was a possibility, but I never imagined that possibility would become reality.

In October 2023, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Just one month later, I underwent a hysterectomy, and in January 2024, I began six months of chemotherapy followed by a year and a half of immunotherapy.

As a military wife, I’ve learned how to face uncertainty with strength, but nothing could have prepared me for the physical and emotional battle that cancer brings.

Cancer has challenged me in ways I never expected, but it has also shown me the strength that comes from family, friends, faith, and the support of my community. Every day is a reminder that hope is stronger than fear, and that no one fights this battle alone.

Can’t wait for you to join us to celebrate all of our Guests of Honor this year!

Our next Guest of Honor for the Summer 4v4 Showdown is Brandi Womack!

Brandi Womack is our fourth Guest of Honor. She married her husband in 2008. They have three children. Two girls and one boy. Six years ago, she had a headache, and went to the ER and they diagnosed her with an Anaplastic oligodendroglioma. She has had three surgeries since then. Her son Liam plays for twin Bridges Lightning and Bethalto Eagles High School

We're excited to announce our next Guest of Honor for the Summer 4v4 Showdown on July 24-26!
Kris Schulze, who is battling stage 4 colon cancer, is the father of two hockey-loving boys—Cooper, (15) who plays for AAA Carshield U15 and Kirkwood High School, and Tucker (13) who plays for Kirkwood Youth Hockey Association.
Kris can often be found at the rink running the clock, scoresheet, penalty box, or broadcasting Cooper’s games online.
Kris is a middle school social studies teacher in the Parkway School District. His wife Katie teaches high school English in the Rockwood School District.
