🚨🚨 Retirement Announcement 🚨🚨

Today is the first official day of retirement Firefighter David “Doc” Watson! He is retiring from Chesterfield Fire and EMS after 25 years of dedicated service!

Firefighter Watson graduated from Recruit School 30 in 2001. During his two-and-a-half-decade career with the department, he served in various assignments, including as a firefighter at the Manchester, Clover Hill, Buford, Phillips, and Airport Fire and EMS Stations. He also served as a firefighter technician in the Resource Management Division (RMD).

Firefighter Watson was also a member of the Hazardous Incident Team and a charter member of Chesterfield Fire and EMS’s Incident Management Team, where he served from the team’s inception in 2017 until his retirement.

During his career, Firefighter Watson received six Unit Citations and two LiveSave Awards, including one for helping rescue a teenager trapped under a tree that fell onto his house in September of 2006 and another for rescuing two people trapped in their car stuck under a tree in 2004.

Doc, congratulations on your well-deserved retirement! Thank you for your decades of dedicated service to the department and the people of Chesterfield County!
