Hey cubs! We have one last meeting before our derby to get our cars ready! We will be putting on weights and wheels this Saturday March 7th at the hut at 10:00am. Please have your cars sanded and painted prior to this meeting.

I will be ordering an easy weigh for the derby cars from the Scoutstuff store tonight, Please let me know if you would like me to order your cub a weight. The weights cost $4.99 plus shipping. The more I order, the less the shipping costs! Remember the car cannot weigh more than 5.00 oz.

Pinewood derby March 14!!!

We will meet at the hut on Friday March 13 at 6:00 to practice running your car down the track and make adjustments. Please have car finished prior to this day.
The Derby will be on Saturday March 14th at the American Legion Hut – Starting at 10:00am

We will be meeting at the hut at 10:00am Saturday 2/14/15. Please bring sandpaper and paint to begin working on your cars. Also we will be having a special treat!

2/28/15 – We will be working on cars at the hut at 10am.

It is Pinewood Derby time!! Yeah! What a fun time working on our cars together with other cubs and family members!! We will be meeting at our hut at 10am on Saturday January 17. If you would like for me to order you a car, please bring $5.00. We will have designs you can choose from to have your car cut. The cars will be cut and ready for our January 31st meeting.

Also, if you plan on participating in the cubs this year 2015, you will need to bring your yearly dues of $24.00.

Hi cubs…

It is time to sign up for a new year in Cub Scouts. I need to collect your yearly registration of $24.00 this Saturday. Please come prepared to sign up for 2015. Also if you want to receive the Boys Life magazine it will be $12.00 for the year!

We will be having a PARTY, this Saturday.

We will meet at the scout hut at 10am. From there we will be going to several stores in town to do ”Random Acts of Kindness”. We will be returning shopping carts for customers at the stores and handing them a small card from the scouts wishing them a Merry Christmas. We will need many adults to help with the boys! We will do this for about 1 hour, then return to the hut for a Christmas party.

I am asking each boy to bring a small $5.00 gift for our gift exchange.

Upcoming meetings: Jan 3, Jan 17, Jan 31. We will begin working on Pinewood Derby cars!!

Our next meeting will be this Saturday Nov 22, at 10am at the cub hut in Craig Park, Chesterfield.
A lady from the P*e Dee Coalition will be visiting and talking with us about abuse and the children’s home. This will be a service project as well, we will be packing about 15 backpacks to be giving to children that are staying at the shelter.

Lisa Davis has graciously donated the backpacks. We have several businesses that have donated items. I would like for each scout that is willing to participate to let me know what certain item you can bring and the number. If you can get 15 of your item, that is great, however if you can only donate 2 or 3, that is super as well!!!!I hate to get 300 coloring books!!! I also challenge every scout to look at their stuffed animals and find one they would like to donate that is in great condition.

Items needed:
Combs Wash clothes Children’s socks
Bar soap pocket packs of tissue fleece blanket(2.88 at Wal-Mart)
Coloring books Crayons playing cards
Small rubber balls candy – no expiration dates gum
Toy cars hair bows books
Barbie dolls

We will be packing the bags at the meeting and we will be making boy and girl bags. These bags will not necessarily be for Christmas! I hope you are able to come and help with this project.
Things already donated: Hospital – Band-Aids
Hospice – flashlights, pens, paper
NETC – water bottles, Pens, paper

All “new” scouts will also be working on the Bobcat badge. If this is your first year in the scouts you will be earning a badge!!!

Reminder…Cub Scout meeting will be at the Monster Truck Ranch in Chesterfield, this Saturday, Nov 8th from 10 -12. It costs $5.00 per rider. We need to have at least 30 riders. I need to know ASAP if you and any of your family will be attending. Right now we have 18 cubs attending, but with family we have over 35 that have let me know they will be attending!!! Have a great day, hope to see you Saturday!!!
