Most residents are only using a fraction of what the library offers.

Summer is a great time to explore new hobbies, learn new skills, and find fun activities for the whole family. While books are an important part of the library, they're only one piece of what makes the Chesterfield Township Library such a valuable community resource.

Many residents don't realize how much technology, education, and free entertainment is available with a library card. From digital resources and learning opportunities to family programs, workshops, makerspace equipment, and community events, there are countless ways to learn, create, and connect. We definitely have some future nail artists amongst our library teens! Tonight we had a Teen Nail Art Workshop for teens and tweens ages 11-18!

After a course on how to do nail art by local nail artist Madison (.madison on instagram) our teens were totally inspired to make their own nail designs!

Check out these awesome neon designs the teens in our Teen Art Club created yesterday!

Each month in art club teens and tweens ages 11-18 have the opportunity to try a new medium or art style, this month was inspired by neon signs utilizing black canvases and acrylic paint pens.

🎶 Some teens spend summer doom scrolling. Others join a ukulele ensemble led by an actual conductor at their local library for FREE. 🎶

This July, teens & tweens ages 11–18 have the chance to learn from Madeline Damschroder in one of the MOST unique teen programs we will offer all year. Seriously, opportunities like this are rare.

Madeline isn’t just teaching chords, she’s teaching participants how to play together in a real ensemble while building confidence, musicality, and performance skills along the way. Whether you’ve never picked up an instrument before or you’re totally new to music, this workshop is designed especially for beginners.

And yes… there’s a finale worthy of an encore. 🎵
Participants will perform in a special concert on July 25th to showcase everything they’ve learned throughout the month!

One of the many items available through our Library of Things is a Round Knitting Loom Set, perfect for anyone who has ever wanted to learn how to knit but isn't quite ready to purchase all the supplies. The kit can be checked out for 21 days and includes multiple loom sizes along with four different pom-pom makers, giving you everything you need to explore a new hobby and see if it's something you enjoy.
