This Friday, March 20th at 6:00 PM Eddystone Borough will be having a town hall. This will be your chance to make your voice heard! LNG will not be good for the community. It will not provide jobs and it will cost irreversible damage to Eddystone.

We held a workshop on Saturday where we discussed best practices for managing Delaware County's waste and the newly published County Zero Waste Plan. Participants discovered how taking a few actions, like composting or contacting local leaders, could make a big difference!

A big thank you to our speakers: Alex Danovich (Nothing Left to Waste), Rebecca Yurkovich (Director, Delaware County Office of Sustainability), Re-Entry Farm, Mother Compost

ICYMI: Here are some imporant ways you can make a difference:

♻️Delaware County Solid Waste Authority (DCSWA): DCSWA must honor their commitment to divert waste from the incinerator and expand both transfer stations immediately to accommodate the transition. Demand answers on the timetable for this. The expansion should also include offerings for recycling, composting and hard-to-recycle drop off to increase diversion.

Give public comment at DCSWA Board of Directors Meeting (best option) - 2nd & 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 3pm
Attend in-person: 610 E. Baltimore Avenue Media, PA 19063
Online: Visit DelcoSWA.org for more info to register.
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 610-892-9620

♻️Delaware County Council: County Council appoints the DCSWA members and needs to be held accountable for their role in Delco’s health and waste management. Let them know it is critical that they direct DCSWA to upgrade the transfer stations to divert waste and support the recommendations outlined in the County’s Zero Waste plan, which Council approved in September 2025.
In-person: County Council Meetings are 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1pm. Visit Delcopa.gov for more info.
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 610-891-4270

♻️Local Municipality: Encourage your municipality to offer composting and recycling services if they do not already. Ask them to consider adopting policies to reduce waste like plastic and styrofoam bans or demolition requirements.

You can see this award hanging at the Media Fellowship House in Media, PA. With all the things we fight everyday it’s nice to be able to celebrate when things go right.

Breathe easy, Chester? Not with the air quality we're facing! Asthma is a major concern, and the Reworld incinerator, the top polluter in Delaware County, isn't helping. This "trash-to-steam" facility releases harmful pollutants, worsening asthma for many in our community. Join us this Saturday, March 14th from 12:00-3:00 PM at the Access Center in Chester to hear from local healthcare professionals about what you can do to protect your family’s lungs.

On Thursday, February 19, Media Borough Council unanimously passed a No LNG in Delco resolution stating their opposition to the construction or siting of any LNG export terminal within Delaware County citing “that any proposal to build an LNG export terminal in the County is contrary to the health, safety, welfare, and public interest of its residents.”
The project proposed by Penn America, now Eddystone Energy LLC, intends to build a massive LNG export terminal in Eddystone or Chester that would process 100 million cubic feet of gas daily to be exported overseas. The project would have drastic impacts on community health, safety, and economic well-being.

On Tuesday, March 2, Swarthmore Borough Council followed suit by unanimously passing their own version of the resolution.
If you are interested in creating a NO LNG resolution for your own town then please consider joining our virtual Resolutions Working Group on Wednesdays at 4:30. Register here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82378983076?pwd=cd4UsULWxzmwoxGdaJIep8dvrbTAf8.1

ICYMI - Discover the real story behind the scenes: donations often buy access and influence policy decisions—or the lack thereof. But here's the thing: there's strength in numbers. There are more of us than there are of corporations like Covanta.

Stand with us! It's time to raise your voice and demand your right to a cleaner, healthier environment. Join our virtual community meeting tonight at 7:00 PM

The sponsor of the proposed incineration ban pulled the bill from a vote at the last minute in January once it appeared to lack support.
