More pavers were added today at the Chester Veterans Memorial Park, and the project continues to take shape! ❤️🤍💙

We’re excited to see this memorial site come together, one paver at a time, honoring the veterans who have served our country and those who continue to serve our community.

🇺🇸 Stop down and take a look at the progress! It’s amazing to see how far the memorial has come, and we’re so thankful for everyone who has helped make this project possible.

🇺🇸 Chester Veterans Memorial Park Update! 🇺🇸

We are trucking right along at the Chester Veterans Memorial Park! This week, Jan Davis Construction has been working hard installing the sidewalk leading to the memorial site, and it’s exciting to see everything slowly coming together! 🦅🇺🇸

Stop by the memorial site and check out the progress in person! Every step brings us closer to creating a beautiful place to honor our veterans and something our community can be proud of for generations to come.

🧱 Pavers are still available!
Pavers are $175 each and provide a lasting way to honor or remember someone special, business or your family. Paper order forms are available at the memorial site, or you can reach out directly to Rod Smith, Kevin Uthe, or Miranda Krumm and we’ll get a paper form to you.

🎟️ Gun Raffle Tickets are still available!
Tickets are $20 each with the opportunity to win not one, but TWO guns! You do not need to be present to win. Only 300 tickets are available, and once they’re all sold, the winners will be announced!

You can purchase a raffle ticket through Venmo or coordinate with Rod, Kevin, or Miranda, and we’ll certainly find a way to get a ticket in your hands! 🇺🇸

This morning, Monte’s Woodshop has officially begun engraving the military branches onto our granite pedestals! 🙌🇺🇸 What an exciting step forward as we continue bringing this memorial to life!

Today, we were honored to welcome Mai Richards to the Chester American Legion Post as part of her statewide Miles of Honor donation tour.

What began as a 450-mile journey across South Dakota to honor our nation’s fallen service members has come full circle, with donations being presented to veterans organizations, memorials, and community partners across the state.

We are incredibly grateful to receive a donation in support of our Post and Veterans Memorial. More importantly, we want to thank Mai for her unwavering dedication to honoring veterans and preserving their legacy. Her passion, hard work, and commitment have made a lasting impact on veterans and communities throughout South Dakota.

Thank you, Mai, for all you do to ensure the sacrifices of our servicemen and women are never forgotten. 🇺🇸

Yesterday we shared that our eagle has officially returned to the Chester Veterans Memorial Park. We wanted to share a few more photos of it being permanently placed for those who have been following the project’s progress.

It’s exciting to see everything coming together. Thank you again to everyone who has supported this memorial through your time, hard work, donations, and encouragement. Because of this amazing community, we’re creating a lasting tribute to the men and women who have served our country.

🇺🇸 It Truly Takes a Village! 🇺🇸

As we put the finishing touches on the Chester Veterans Memorial ahead of Village Creek Days, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible people and businesses who have helped make it all possible.

👏 A huge THANK YOU to T & H Welding for building the beautiful stand for our eagle and for repairing the eagle’s wing after the storm this weekend. Your craftsmanship and generosity are truly appreciated!

🌱 Thank you to Hass Custom AG Services for spraying the weeds around the memorial and helping the grounds look their best for this weekend’s celebration.

🎉 A special birthday shout-out to Kevin Uthe! Thank you, Kevin, along with Barb Uthe, Rod Smith, Jim George, and the many other community members who have volunteered their time and worked through the heat to prepare the memorial. Your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed.

The Chester Veterans Memorial has become what it is because of the generosity, talent, and countless volunteer hours from so many people. We truly can’t say thank you enough.

It truly does take a village, and our community continues to prove just how special it is. ❤️🇺🇸
