Today marks the completion of an incredible month of IDEAL! After four weeks of intensive learning, hands-on experiences, new challenges, and plenty of fun, our students officially wrapped up the program today—and we couldn’t be more proud of them! 💙

Throughout the month, students worked on a wide variety of skills designed to build independence, confidence, and prepare them for life beyond the classroom. Some of the areas they explored included:

🔹 Orientation & Mobility (O&M) skills
🔹 Cooking and cleaning
🔹 Communication skills
🔹 Money management
🔹 Conflict management
🔹 Self-advocacy
🔹 Vocational exploration
🔹 Phone apps and technology
🔹 Computer skills
🔹 Medication management
🔹 Independent living skills—and so much more!

Of course, learning wasn’t limited to the classroom! The students also had the opportunity to make memories and enjoy some well-deserved fun along the way. 🎳🍦🎬🕯️🐠

Some of the highlights included trips to the movies, ice cream outings, bowling, candle making, the aquarium, Kutztown University, and INSPIRITEC, along with many other experiences throughout the month.

And what better way to wrap up the program than with a graduation ceremony! 🎓 Each student had the opportunity to share their experience through a speech at the ceremony, reflecting on what they learned, the challenges they overcame, and the memories they made.

We are so proud of each and every one of our IDEAL students. Their hard work, willingness to learn, determination, and personalities made this month truly special. We can’t wait to see where their skills, confidence, and dreams take them next! 💙

Congratulations, IDEAL Class of 2026! 🎓👏

Here are just a few photos highlighting some of the amazing moments from the past month! 📸✨

Week 1 of the IDEAL Program is in the books! 🎉

What a great first week for our students as they jumped into new challenges, built independence, and made lasting memories.

This week included math testing and instruction in key life skill areas such as Orientation & Mobility (O&M), Assistive Technology, Job Readiness, Medication Management, and Home Management. They also went to INSPIRITEC to discover places that hire those with disabilities, having the opportunity to talk to employees who are visually impaired.

Students also did an excellent job preparing their own breakfasts and lunches, along with meals like lasagna, Swiss steak over rice, steak and vegetable kabobs with rice, and chicken Alfredo with broccoli.

Outside of the classroom, they enjoyed dinner at Chick-fil-A, bowling and ice cream, and a trip to the movies to see Supergirl, Moana, or Young Washington—with popcorn, of course!

By Sunday, everyone was ready for some rest and relaxation, and they especially appreciated a dinner made by staff. A special thank you to our O&M Specialist, Luann, for making homemade spaghetti and meatball—it was a hit!

We are so proud of all the things the students accomplished in Week 1 and can’t wait to see what’s ahead.
