Ramone is doing well as he recovers from his neuter this past Monday. The incisions are healing nicely, and he is eager for the next week to pass so he can have more room to move around 🥰

Clean bill of health check✅ neuter on the books for Sept. 28 ✅and this sweet boy will ready for adoption in October!

He’s about 6 months old and he’s really come around to us. He likes to be pet and runs to us for snacks every single time we pass by 😅 He’s very gentle and I expect with all of the socialization we’ve been working on that he’ll be someone’s best friend in no time!

On August 28 Chaz spotted a domestic rabbit on our property and called me. I grabbed snacks and went out to try to gain his trust. He loved the snacks, but would not let me get within 2ft of him. He eventually ran into the woods and I was so nervous for him. We are in a heavily wooded area with a ton of fox and coyote who are all very active right now. We saw him again two days later. We set a trap and kept leaving all the things he loved to snack on around the trap. On Thursday night he appeared again, and we were able to guide him into the chicken yard. Once there we got him to run into the chicken run, I ran to quickly close the door and now this sweet boy is safe with us.

He looks pretty young and we aren’t sure how he ended up on our property. I’m just so glad a found us and didn’t suffer the cruel fate of being a domestic animal with minimal resources in the wild. He’s pretty thin, has some scabs and some bald spots, but he will see the vet on Tuesday for an initial exam and vaccines. He’s currently being quarantined away from our rabbit residents, as we don’t want to risk the health of our old men, Daryl and Leeroy.

We haven’t taken in a new resident since Tallulah, almost 3 years ago. With the steady decline in donations over the years, it is not responsible for us to continue to bring animals in under our care. We promised the residents we have that they’ll never have uncertainly ever again. We promised them we would do absolutely everything in our power to maintain their health and happiness. We mean it with our whole hearts.

With that said, we are looking to find a responsible home or sanctuary to adopt this sweet boy. We will pay for his initial vetting, neuter, and will supply hay and a bag of pellets.

See the gate at the bottom? That’s how we had to “gently remind” Ollie and Moe that the litter box is for peeing and not sleeping 😅🙃

Moe pout for a couple of days, but he seems to finally remember that beds are comfy 🙃🙃

At night after the pigs go to bed the gate to the potty is opened so they can use it, but in the morning it gets closed so no one tries to sleep in it.

When I say I’m going to feed the cats and am gone for 40 minutes— this is why 😅
