⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING: PTSD, SU***DE & GRAPHIC ENDING. VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.
It's been a hell of a couple months, but I'm doing good, staying focused on recovery, chasing goals, and learning when to put the damn rucksack down.
Huge shoutout to Denny at Security Halt Podcast and Dave Fielding for Into the Darkness. Powerful conversation about mental health, divorce, resilience, and rebuilding. And thanks for calling out us dysfunctional 11 Bravos! 😂
Life keeps throwing weight in that rucksack. Hit the gym, get educated, find your purpose, practice gratitude, and fill your damn bucket.
NOW FOR SOME GRUNT-LEVEL TRUTH.
PTSD doesn't give a DAMN about your rank, branch, deployments, or how badass you think you are.
Silence can be deadly. Asking for help isn't weakness. PTSD doesn't mean you're broken. Sometimes you're just putting the damn pieces back together.
We all signed that blank check, payable up to and including our lives. We didn't leave our brothers and sisters behind downrange, so why the HELL would we abandon them back home?
CHECK ON YOUR BATTLE BUDDIES. Even the ones who seem fine. One veteran lost to su***de is one too damn many.
And to be crystal clear: I'm doing well on my recovery journey. This video is NOT a reflection of my intentions or thoughts. I'm sharing it because I've seen what reaching out, therapy, treatment, and a solid veteran community can do. I'm grateful for everyone who's had my six.
THE OATH DOESN'T EXPIRE. THE BROTHERHOOD DOESN'T END. AND NOBODY FIGHTS ALONE.
🇺🇸 KEEP YOUR SIX COVERED AND CHECK YOUR BUDDY'S.
🎙️ Highly recommend Denny's podcast and Dave Fielding's book.
