The Parenting and Prenatal Program provides support to improve
the health and well-being of pregnant women, new mothers and
babies facing challenging life circumstances. Prenatal Support:
• Information regarding prenatal development,
• How to care for yourself before and after baby is born,
• Providing answers to your questions about labor, delivery
and breastfeeding,
• Connects families with
community services and resources. Parenting Support:
• For all families of newborns, the rewards and demands of parenthood are endless,
• When a baby comes home, there are unanswered questions,
• At times families feel a bit overwhelmed and alone. A Support Specialist is available to provide encouragement and day-to-day problem solving
through:
• Listening,
• Recognizing and reinforcing the family’s strengths,
• Working with parents on their needs. Celebrating with the parents the uniqueness of their baby and the gift of parenting
Assisting the parents in finding time for themselves and for their growth through education,
employment, counseling, support groups or other positive steps. Martha's Choice Marketplace utilizes a unique approach to serving
residents of Delaware County by offering them the ability to selfserve from a market stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables, frozen
meats and nonperishable staples. Individuals are invited to shop
with a staff or volunteer member, shopping the culturally sensitive
and nutritious food items. All food distributed meets the highest nutritional standards; nearly
30 percent is fresh produce; and half are perishable products such as
dairy, eggs, meat and fish. Other On-site Programs:
The Coffee Club:
Neighbors gather daily to share breakfast and fellowship. During their time with us, they are invited
to spend time with visiting healthcare service providers for information and referral services. Public Bathroom, Shower and Laundry Facilities :
