Make a difference this Thanksgiving!

Hey friends and neighbors...we need your help! We need turkeys! And turkey breasts! The Chester Community Food Pantry is inviting you to help feed dozens of your neighbors in need this holiday season. We are collecting turkeys (and breasts) as well as other holiday meal items. We're most in need of boxes of stuffing, cranberry sauce, frozen turkeys (whole or just the breast), canned sweet potatoes, soups, 100% fruit juice, cooking oil, jams/jellies, dessert mixes, hot cocoa mix.

If you have grocery store points and won't be using your bird, won't you please consider donating it for one of our 80+ families? Please do not ask the store to donate it for you, as it likely will not come directly to OUR Pantry. The best thing to do is to take it and call us to arrange drop off at the Pantry... or drop off at the Chester Library who can hold it for us.

They are needed no later than Wednesday, November 19th (distribution takes place on the 20th). Please call 914-719-7969 to arrange drop off, or comment here or message us to arrange drop off. Hours when donations will be accepted may be added.

Some families in our community may not be able to purchase traditional holiday meal groceries or have friends or family to share the day with. Your donation can bring some much needed joy to a family struggling to make ends meet. Any help you can provide will be gratefully accepted.

Please help your neighbors have a Thanksgiving to remember. Thanks in advance for your generous support!

Thank you to the Chester Public Library for organizing a food drive to assist the Pantry with our upcoming holiday needs as well as some staples that are always in need. Items (including turkeys, chickens and hams) can be dropped at the Library any time they are open.

The Chester Community Food Pantry is participating, once again, in the annual CROP Hunger Walk.
To donate on-line with a credit card go to: https://events.crophungerwalk.org/crophungerwalks/event/monroeny You will find a Team called “Chester Community”. Follow the prompts to donate any amount. There will be several optional entries.
You may also enter the walk and donate by registering in person at the Monroe Methodist Church. You can be a new team or part of the ‘Chester Community’ Team. The walk will be around the two ponds in Monroe. There are refreshment stops along the way. I walk 2 laps. Some walk one lap. Weather could be the issue. They accept a check made out to CWS.
There will also be a sign-up sheet at the Chester Presbyterian Church library.
