Cooperative Impact

Cooperative Impact Cooperative Impact is a school for worldbuilders. Cooperative Impact is for the person who refuses to accept the world that was given to them.

It's for the person who wakes up everyday inspired and excited to be a part of something bigger than themself. They are the independent thinker with their own point of view. They want to meet good people, create meaningful projects, and build companies that change the way we live, work, love, and play. That's what they are all about, and that's what they do here at the school for worldbuilders.

In the midst of the chaos, you showed up. You came from every corner of the world, and you found one another.

You noticed the world wasn't the world you wanted to live in. You were tired of waiting for permission to build your own world.

You kept showing up.

You turned the chaos into hope.

We standby as a witness to your brilliance. We see, now, that you are the type of person who gives it everything you've got.

You invest in yourself, your peers, your team, and your community.

You invest in doing the good work. You invest in make things better.

When it feels easier to stay small and live in fear, you lock arms, rise up, and take the future in your own hands.

We needed you to lead, and here you are - defining what it means to be a leader.

Such a beautiful person you are.

This cohort of exceptional creators, makers, and founders came together from around the world to immerse themselves into the most complex challenges humanity can remember. These resilient innovators have indeed launched ventures that impact the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

They cultivated a deeper sense of self, built their own founding teams aligned on essence and values, and collaborated across the world to create prototypes to support the evolution of humanity.

Grateful to work w incredible people naturally motivated to do the good work to make our world a good place to live. Thank you!

Check the comments for words from the cohort.

We started the lab to provide businesses that serve human needs with the tools and support to do more of the good work they’re here on this planet to do.

It’s an oasis that nourishes heart-centered innovators. It’s an incubator for building startups that solve social problems. It’s a hub that brings everything you need into one place.

We open its doors January 15th 2021.

We start the year in 2021 with quarter one focused on launching a series of impact projects serving women’s healthcare, quality of life for terminally ill and elderly, mental health of belonging and community, and economic opportunity for millennials.

See what we are all about at the next Meet & Greet on Tuesday at 630pm pst.

“We brought our different perspectives together where they all could exist as a new energy. In that energy, I can see a new world emerge. I long for that world.”

Those words came from Oluwafunmilola. She is from, and lives in, Africa. It was a pleasure to share the room with her. We appreciate her articulation (and the other participant reviews in the article linked below) of the Red Thread experience.

Do you remember what you came here for - to this life? What did you come to be a part of?

“People like you and me never grow old. We never cease to stand like curious children before the great mystery into which we were born.” ~Albert Einstein

What becomes possible when we approach the world from a place of childlike wonder and curiosity? What does that world look like? What does it feel like?

“It's a school for people to rise out of their circumstances by emerging as solutions to our greatest challenges.

The school actively seeks out a population known as the Lost Einsteins: women, minorities, and people who grew up in a disadvantaged environment. They are 10 times less likely to become inventors and patent holders than white American men.

The school uses a ‘centering’ approach to provide wraparound support to learners as they bring themselves from where they are today, to a visionary place in the future that we may not be able to comprehend right now.

The approach is comparable to the one used to improve outcomes for women and their children as they move through the social, emotional, spiritual, and biological transformations of pregnancy.

In this case, the learners are the mothers. They emerge as the next version of themselves while cultivating an empathetic entrepreneurial intent leading to the inception of an idea for a startup that solves a social problem.

Learners are nurtured through the process of giving birth to this new type of organization similar to how a mother gives birth to a newborn.”

School for worldbuilders is making new meaning of an old problem.

“This experience has been a catalytic journey. I am establishing meaningful relationships with my cohort and building my vulnerability muscles with them. This leads me to believe that it is imperative we understand ourselves prior to addressing the problems within our community and the world.

My intention is to launch a social impact venture - a storytelling platform - to support 18-24 year olds to maintain their identity, health, and wellness as we move through COVID and into the “new normal”.

I also want to share stories of other marginalized voices who are surviving COVID, building adversity, and acquiring resilience from the challenging time.

As an immediate next step, I am excited to align with my team and share stories of the talented people in my cohort.

Eventually, perhaps the platform would support other ventures tell stories of the sustainable changes they’re making in their communities.

“Until a few years ago I chose to do everything by myself. In the moment it felt easier. I wanted support and help, but lonewolfing it felt safer.

It wasn’t until I could surrender into acting without my ego and being able to trust other people. It was only then was I able to unlock my fear and become open to moving forward, and shape the future.

What could accomplish with community that you couldn’t on your own?” - Megan

“My vision is a world free from poverty, hunger, and where all are familiar with their Human Rights.

My intentions for being in this program is to improve my personal and professional self, to take all of the knowledge and skills that I learn, and use them to create, build, and make this world a better place.

My experience in this program so far has been such a light to this 2020 year. I am learning so many tools and skills that not only improves my professional self but also improving my personal self.

I am excited to grow myself and grow with my cohort. I am super excited about getting to know my cohort on a personal and professional level. There are already so many great people I have met, and I am excited to put our minds together to come up with projects to better the world.

Even though it has only been a few weeks, I feel like I have learned and obtained so much. I’m eager to continue the journey. I’ll check back in here with an update in a few weeks to let you know it goes.

My name is Damaris Kauffman, and I am an Emergent Leader.”

How do you bring a group of people who never met before into a cohesive team that is willing to be vulnerable, open to establishing trust, and interested in working together in support of realizing a vision that is bigger than their individual achievements?

This Wednesday (tomorrow), September 9th at 1pm EST we invite you to begin a process of building alignment with your team.

https://fb.me/e/3WOjTDs8p

This is an opportunity to explore ways to prevent common symptoms of culture-gone-wild, & align teams by creating space for all perspectives to lay the foundation to build upon in the coming weeks.

OUTCOMES

-Deeper understanding of who is on your team
-Team diversity evaluation to identify inclusion opportunities
-Shared vision, purpose, values, brand story
-10-day roadmap for your team‘s next steps

Culture happens whether we like it or not. You can wait until the culture evolves into whatever it wants to evolve into, or you can intentionally design the culture to create an environment that expresses who you are and brings out the best of your people. The courageous human who takes her life, learning, and development into her own hands creates her own opportunity. The independent thinker who takes a stand by her point-of-view leads us. The lifelong learner who pays attention to the lessons all around feels deeply into a knowing that leads her into the unknown. We acknowledge you for indulging in your curiosity to satisfy your knowledge cravings.
