We would like to thank everyone who braved the cold weather last night and joined us for another successful community light up night. A special thanks to the Chester Lions Club, the Hancock County Family Support Center, and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Reserve for all their hard work and making this wonderful event happen. Events like this make our town so special! We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! 🎄🎅🏻🤶⛄️

Reminder that Friday @ 6pm will be light up night at the gazebo. We have 100 light up necklaces to hand for free out to children 8 and under. Looking forward to seeing everyone…dress warm 🧤🧣⛄️

The Chester Beautification Committee has officially adopted three roads in the Chester area for litter control and cleanup: Rt. 2 between Chester and Newell, Rt. 30 to the Pennsylvania line, and the Old US Hwy 30 Johnsonville extension. We extend our gratitude to the Chester Lions Club, WV, for their continued commitment to cleaning up Pyramus Rd. and the Hancock County Sheriff Reserves for newly adopting Rt. 2 from the Newell bridge to the end of town. It’s that time of the year again for our annual Make It Shine cleanup! We hope you can join us on May 11th for painting, mulching, weeding and litter cleanup. We will be meeting at the 3rd street playground at 9 AM. We hope to see you there 🙃”

The Chester Beautification Committee would like to extend our gratitude to Summit Physical Therapy and their dedicated staff for generously donating to help install a new picnic table at the 3rd Street playground. We are incredibly excited that with their help, we were able to install the beautiful wood finished and metal framed picnic table under the pavilion structure. We could not do what we do without the help, generosity, and kindness of the residents and businesses in our great City of Chester!

Unfortunately the weather is not working in our favor and we are going to have to cancel our Make it Shine event for tomorrow. We will be doing these projects as a committee still this summer but are unsure of a date we will be moving our event to just yet. We will let you all know the postponement date once it is decided. We thank everyone who signed up to stand along side us tomorrow and hope you all sign up later on still! Happy Spring everyone! 🌧️🌦️☀️

Spring has sprung and the kids can't wait to have all the fun! This year on our annual Make it Shine day on April 22nd, we will be focusing on the 3rd street playground. As you can tell there is plenty of work to be done to make this playground more inviting and safe for the kids; not to mention a place for the parents to relax while their children play. The time has come, flowers are blooming and the weather is warming up. The Chester Beautification Committee has many opportunities available for you to help in the annual Make it Shine Day on April 22, 2023. The Make it Shine day will start at 9am and we will meet at the 3rd Street Playground. There you will grab some breakfast snacks and beverages before we begin. This year we will be mulching, landscaping, painting and cleaning up weeds and debris. Please if you want to protect and beautify the city of Chester that we all love so much, sign up below!
