Pressure Lab Rewind ⏪

This year's theme for World Mental Health Day was "Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change."

In Episode #6 of our podcast "The Pressure Lab", Keith Wilford sat down with Dr. Scott Glassman, a licensed psychologist, and Will Davis, a high school sophomore goalkeeper for FC Delco 2010 MLS Next HG. Keith asks the pivotal question: How do we change the culture to make having a positive mindset the norm?

We are excited to announce that will be returning for Season 2! We look forward to speaking to more athletes, coaches, and professionals to dissect the game and make mental health a priority on and off the pitch. Today, October 10, is World Mental Health Day, as well as the third anniversary of HEADFIRST, our youth mental health initiative in partnership with .

Over the past three years, the Philadelphia Union Foundation has reached over 40,500 youth athletes across the Philadelphia region and is proud to announce the HEADFIRST Affiliate Program to ensure more young athletes have support.

In addition to all of HEADFIRST’s resources and training, participating clubs will gain access to videos, session guides, worksheets for team meetings and events, and more. We hope the Affiliate Program is another way for the Union Foundation to improve lives through soccer and make mental health a more visible part of clubs’ culture.

Watch Chester High School celebrate its first-ever win!

In 2024, the Union Foundation brought soccer back to Chester after 30+ years by supporting, funding, and developing Chester High School's boys' and girls' teams. This year, just two years into this new partnership, we watched the team secure its first win over Academy Park on September 17! The team's record is currently 2-2-1, and with just a few games left, Chester High School can finish this historic season over .500.

We are proud to cheer on Chester as they continue their journey. Go team! 🟠⚫️

This week, we officially inaugurated our founding class of the Legacy XI Society. These individuals and organizations have invested in the work we do in our community through various programs and initiatives. The entire evening was a fitting reminder of the Foundation’s work bringing soccer to the local community, making the game feel closer for everyone.

Introducing Exit 6, our new clothing line inspired by the history, culture, and community of Chester, Pennsylvania. 💙💛

Featuring T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and bags, Exit 6 celebrates the community that has been home to the Philadelphia Union, Subaru Park, and the Foundation since the club’s arrival.

Named after Exit 6 on Interstate 95, a familiar gateway into Chester, the collection highlights local pride and powerful stories, including “The Real Penn’s Landing,” honoring Chester’s place in Pennsylvania history.
