This is an exciting new chapter for Spartanburg County, bringing Animal Control and animal care together under one roof to create the best possible outcomes for pets in our community.
We’re continuing our gradual transition into the PRC. This week marks an important step as we began Animal Control intake on Monday. Moving forward, all animals picked up by our Animal Control Officers will remain in Spartanburg County and receive care, evaluation, and reunification efforts directly at the PRC.
For more than a decade, Greenville County Animal Care has been an incredible partner—supporting reunification efforts, providing medical care, and helping thousands of animals from Spartanburg find loving homes. As we begin intake at the PRC, we’re excited to continue that partnership with GCAC in different yet meaningful ways—because it truly takes a village to care for animals in need.
At this time, we are only able to intake animals brought in by our Animal Control Officers, and we are NOT open for adoptions or community services yet. More information about our full opening is coming soon!
ACO's picked up several stray pets, and they’re safe with us at the PRC. Do any of these faces look familiar to you? If so, please reach out to our Pet Support team. They can guide you through the steps to reclaim your lost pet and bring them back home.
