🐾 Our Arrow of Light (AOL) Cub Scouts had a meaningful opportunity to learn about serving others with the help of Sam Grady and Sam Howard. Together, they are representatives of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church for CAST, a local homeless shelter mission.
They taught the Scouts about what homelessness means, the challenges people face when living without shelter or personal belongings, and the importance of compassion and community support. They shared how Great Bridge Presbyterian Church partners with other area churches each winter to provide meals, shelter, and hospitality to local individuals experiencing homelessness.
During a tour of the church, they showed the Scouts how guests are welcomed into the building, where they will eat, rest, and find a safe place to sleep. This year, Great Bridge Presbyterian Church will host CAST on December 30. The Scouts were excited to hear that they can sign up to serve meals at the church for CAST.
One message especially resonated with the Scouts: “We are blessings, and blessings flow through us to others.” Through learning, service, and understanding, our Scouts were reminded that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.
Thank you, Sam Grady and Sam Howard for helping our Scouts better understand the needs of our neighbors and the many ways we can serve our community. 💙

🌟 Big night for Pack 57! 🌟
Our Cub Scouts celebrated huge milestones during our Crossover Ceremony, recognizing their hard work, growth, and achievements throughout the year. From earning new ranks to crossing over into the next stage of their Scouting journey, each Scout has so much to be proud of.
Congratulations to all of our Scouts and families for their dedication and support. We can’t wait to see where the trail leads next! ⚜️

🥾Pack 57 went to Newport News for our Spring camping trip! 🏕️ This past weekend was more than just s’mores and tents—it was a chance for our Scouts to become citizen scientists.
On Saturday, April 25th, we participated in the “Insects and Friends” event at the Newport News Discovery Center. This coincides with the All City Nature Challenge, a global competition to see which city can document the most biodiversity. We used the iNaturalist app to record our finds during our hike!

Levi (Webelos) and Jamie (Tiger) proudly took part in Troop 828’s Eagle Scout project at Great Bridge Middle School—helping construct picnic benches for Wildcat Park 🛠️🌳
