Grilling season is officially here - and so is grease season. After you fire up the grill, remember that leftover grease does NOT go down the drain.

Fats, oils, and grease clog pipes and contribute to sewage overflows that can end up in our waterways. Let it cool and absorb it or pour it into a container with a lid and toss it in the trash. Your pipes will thank you!

Want to avoid a pricey plumbing bill? Here’s the easiest life hack ever: If it’s not toilet paper, don’t flush it. Even so called ‘flushable’ wipes can build up in pipes, causing clogs, backups and expensive repairs.

When in doubt, throw it out. Only flush the 3 Ps — p*e, poo and toilet paper.

It's World Bee Day 🐝 Did you know the same native plants that feed local pollinators also protect our waterways? Unlike traditional lawns, gardens filled with native plants require less water, no fertilizer, and no pesticides - meaning less runoff into the water that surrounds us and happier bees in your yard. This spring, try adding just one: aster, coneflower, black-eyed Susan or milkweed. The bees and the bay will thank you kindly.
