Dear BRP families, staff, and community members,
As I reach the end of my term as PTA President, I’ve been reflecting on what this experience has truly meant to me—and I want to share my gratitude as I step down due to term limits.
When I first stepped into this role in 2022, I’ll be honest: I didn’t fully understand what the PTA truly was. This was my first time ever participating in something like this. I joined because, as a mother of young children, I felt a bit disconnected from the world at times and wanted to show up more intentionally for my children while also finding ways to build connection for myself.
What I quickly learned is that volunteering is so much more than showing up—it takes real dedication, consistency, and heart. As I became more involved and began to understand the PTA more deeply, I found myself stepping outside of the “BRP ring” and into the wider city community, building relationships and seeing just how much impact this work can have.
My own children have certainly benefited from my involvement, but even more than that, I’ve been gifted something I didn’t expect: the joy of getting to know so many of your children. There is nothing I love more than walking through the school and being greeted with a hug and a smile as “Noelle, Juliette, James, or Jack’s mom.” Those small moments have meant the world to me.
I’ve also had the privilege of watching your children benefit directly from the work we do together, and of supporting our educators so they can show up as their best selves for our students. Bringing traditions like Heroes Breakfast back after the pandemic, organizing Lunch with Santa, and so many other events have been some of the most meaningful experiences of my time in this role.
More than anything, I’ve learned that a strong PTA is built on people who care—who give their time, their energy, and their ideas to make something bigger than themselves. That’s why I want to be very direct in saying: **we need someone to step into this role.** This position is not just a title—it is the driving force that helps keep our community events, support systems, and family connections thriving.
As I step down, I do so with excitement for what comes next. This role deserves fresh energy, new ideas, and a committed leader who will continue to grow it. I strongly encourage anyone who has ever considered getting more involved—or who simply cares deeply about our school community—to step forward or reach out to learn more. You will not be doing it alone; this work is always shared, supported, and rooted in community.
Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and allowing me to grow through this experience. I will carry these memories and this experience always.

Every great school community is built by people who choose to show up — whether that means planning events, helping behind the scenes, decorating hallways, supporting teachers, or simply lending an extra set of hands when needed. The BRP PTA is more than meetings and fundraisers; it’s a group of...
