🐝 Hive Inspection Update 🐝
The drought has been brutal this season. We walked into today’s inspection having already made peace with the idea that 2026 just isn’t a honey year. And honestly? Most of the hives confirmed our fears — healthy colonies, solid brood patterns, queens laying beautifully… but the supers are light. Some are light enough that we’re going to start supplemental feeding just to keep them comfortable heading into summer. When the flowers don’t deliver, we step up.
That’s the job.
But then we got to our last swarm hive — the scrappy little colony that started from a spring catch — and stopped in our tracks. 🐝
They are on their way to filling a super. 🍯
Sometimes the bees humble you. While the rest of the apiary was grinding through drought conditions, this crew quietly figured it out and put up a super like it was nothing. A little reminder that you don’t count the bees out.
We’ll take the win.
