American Legion post 280 Virginia

Yesterday we had the privilege of hosting combined CCI Class 133 for FY '27 from NAS Oceana Damn Neck Annex. 13 CPO Selectees helped paint the front porch and handicap ramp at the Post. This was followed by lunch with all of the selectees, their families, and their sponsors. Our thanks to Chris for reaching out to Denny to set this up. We are always looking for opportunities to support our active duty partners in the community. We hope to see you back soon supporting Legion events!!!

Good morning Post 280! Currently in Cherryville your SEALs are 2-1 and in the final 4! They play today at 4:30 in a revenge match against Florence, SC. The game will be live streamed at the Post. Come on out and cheer your SEALs to tomorrow’s championship game!!!

The SEALs have arrived in Shelby!! They made it through orientation and were on their way to dinner. Tomorrow's game is at 12:30 and will be available on GameChanger. We will try to get as many games as possible on at the pub. Stay tuned for more!!!!!!

Congratulations to your 2026 American Legion Senior Division Baseball Champions!! The SEALS defeated West End Post 125 today to advance to the Southeast Regionals. Stay tuned for more info. on the Regionals and pictures from today’s game!!

And your SEALS just won Game 2 4-3 over Post 180 from Vienna. They will play tomorrow night at 5PM and we will have it live at Pub280VA!! See you there!!!!

While baseball is probably on most everyones mind, as our SEALS play in the Department Tournament, I think we need to take a moment and honor one of our Post teams.

Our Junior Shooting Sports team has some bragging rights of their own. Bella recently participated in the CMP 3 Position Air Rifle Nationals. She placed 12th out of 220 shooters and received a $3000 scholarship. This past week she participated in the American Legion 35th Annual National 3 Position Air Rifle Championship. She finished 9th out of the 15 precision shooters. She missed the finals by 1 point. That's 1 point out of a possible 2400! She also placed 2nd overall in the prone position.

If you see Bella around the Post or see her dad Matt, give them a congratulations. They have done wonders to help advance our Precision program!!! Congratulations Bella!!!!
