Chesapeake has more than 80 public parks spread throughout the City, all hosting a variety of unique activities ranging from leisurely secluded walks in nature, large-scale special events, and everything in between.
This month, we’re highlighting Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism's Lakeside Park (1441 Bainbridge Boulevard): https://youtu.be/zr-8Mg9P51U. Built in 1933 and located in the South Norfolk section of the City, this 11-acre park has mature trees and a scenic archway bridge that provides historic and panoramic views. Lakeside Park features an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible walkway to the bridge, a renovated footbridge over the lake, a fishing pier, picnic shelters with grills, and an ADA-accessible playground.
