Why Does the Pain After War Remain Invisible?

War leaves scars not only on the body. The deepest wounds are often the ones no one can see.

A person may smile, work, spend time with family, and appear strong on the outside, while internally struggling every day with memories, anxiety, sleepless nights, guilt, or constant tension. This is why the psychological consequences of war often go unnoticed.

Many service members become accustomed to being strong and staying silent about their pain. But true strength is not hiding your struggles — it is allowing yourself to receive support.

At our psychological rehabilitation center, we understand that healing begins when a person feels heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Every story matters. Every step toward recovery matters.

Invisible pain deserves healing too. And no one should have to face it alone.

💙 Support is not a sign of weakness. It is the path to finding yourself again.

❓What do you think is the hardest thing to notice in a person after they have experienced war?

💙 Supporting Military Families Starts Today

While funding approval for our future rehabilitation center is still in progress, our team of psychotherapists is already providing support to the wives, mothers, and children of military service members.

War affects not only those who serve on the front lines but also their families. Daily worry, stress, anxiety, and uncertainty become a heavy burden for the loved ones of those defending our country.

That is why our specialists are working to help:
✔️ cope with anxiety and stress;
✔️ restore emotional resilience;
✔️ support children’s mental well-being;
✔️ create a safe space for healing and support.

Our future center is being created for military personnel, veterans, and their families. But help cannot wait, which is why we are taking action today.

💛 By supporting our project, you are helping not only to build a rehabilitation center but also to make a real difference in the lives of military families right now.

Our team, led by Olha, participated in the EMDR Oslo 2026 Conference, where they presented research findings on addressing wartime trauma in Ukraine.

During the conference, several studies were showcased, focusing on the use of EMDR therapy for both adults and children affected by war. Special attention was given to the use of Virtual Reality (VR) as an innovative tool for expanding access to trauma-focused mental health care in wartime settings.

The presented findings demonstrated promising results, including reductions in PTSD symptoms, anxiety, and depression, as well as improvements in overall psychological well-being following treatment. The team also shared research involving Ukrainian children exposed to the impacts of war, where significant improvements in emotional health and trauma-related symptoms were observed.

It is a great honor to represent Ukraine on the international stage and contribute to the global conversation on trauma recovery. Together with our international partners, we continue exploring effective, evidence-based approaches to support the mental health and resilience of Ukrainians affected by war.

This is Olya — the founder of a future International Institute of Traumatherapy center 💙

The project is not yet built. We are currently at the early stage — with a clear vision, a developed concept, and active fundraising to move into construction.

This center is designed to become a safe space for recovery and rehabilitation for military personnel and civilians affected by the war — helping them restore both physical and psychological strength.

Construction will begin soon, and every form of support today brings this vision closer to reality 🙏

Honored to participate in an international forum in the Netherlands dedicated to Ukraine’s recovery, sustainable development, and international cooperation.

The discussions brought together leaders from government, business, education, and social sectors to explore how global partnerships can contribute to rebuilding communities and creating long-term opportunities for Ukraine.

As the founder of a rehabilitation center supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families, I was especially inspired by the willingness of international partners to invest not only in infrastructure and economic growth, but also in people—the true foundation of Ukraine’s future.

Recovery is not only about rebuilding cities. It is about restoring lives, supporting mental health, strengthening families, and helping those affected by war find hope and purpose again.

Meaningful change happens when governments, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and communities work together toward a common goal. Events like this remind us that Ukraine is not alone and that global cooperation has the power to transform challenges into opportunities.

Thank you to the organizers, speakers, and participants for the valuable conversations, shared vision, and commitment to Ukraine’s future.

Together, we are building more than recovery.
We are building resilience, dignity, and hope.

🇺🇦 Together for Ukraine.

💔 A story of waiting that hurts every single day

She is waiting for her husband to return from the war…
And every day for her is silence filled with both hope and fear.

In this video, she openly shares how she feels: how difficult it is to stay strong when it feels like the past has been left behind with him, and all that remains is waiting… and uncertainty.

This is not just one story. It is the reality of thousands of Ukrainian families.

🙏 Let’s not stay indifferent.
Even a small act of support makes a difference.
