Coals to Diamonds Center

Coals to Diamonds (C2D) is a recently established non profit organization that has over eight years of experience dealing with troubled youth and community outreach. Mainly due to the negative opportunities presented by their environment the youth aforementioned are statistically proven to more than likely experience imprisonment, pregnancy, disease and/or death at an early age. t an all time high, there is an increase in school drop outs, disease, and teen pregnancy. Poor family structure and abnormal economic crisis provokes desperation amongst the inner-city youth, resulting in the increase of illegal activity leading to incarcerations. Hopeless, would be the one word that would best describe this situation. However, Coals to Diamonds disagrees with this description. C2D believes a program that appeals to the interest of at risk youth while presenting real life accessible resources, guidance, and consultation enables C2D to positively affect the urban community, decrease crime rates and increase hope. Coals to Diamonds offers performance arts training, literacy and job training, basic computer training, gang prevention and awareness training, post secondary education opportunities, accredited and special skills certification, high school equivalent certification, job preparation and placement assistance, counseling, mentorship, and spiritual guidance. The Coals to Diamonds Center has a recording studio, recreation room, performing arts area, computer lab, beauty salon, cafe, and a dance school.
