Looking for parent/caregiver/community member volunteers for the Reality Fair. The Reality Fair is coming to GBHS on November 2nd. Students taking Economics/Personal Finance will be participating in the Reality Fair. Students will be given life circumstance (i.e. married, 2 kids, $3,500/month salary) and must navigate paying bills, finding housing, choosing a phone plan, and dealing with unexpected events. This is a fantastic program and is a great time to take a couple of hours to volunteer and see our students getting a glimpse of adulting. Sign up below.

Hello GBHS families! Each month the PTSA sponsors a popup table for the students during all lunches. We are always striving to interact and help students learn new things. We need a little help with items to give away each month. This Friday is our Breast Cancer Awareness table and we need a few things to give out to students and for our raffle giveaway. We give stuff to the students each month along with handouts. If you can help us please see the link below. All items can be sent to me (Sabrina Barnes), and I along with Sarah Miller will be handing them out each month. Thank you so much for your support. Please note the list will be updated as needed for each table as we finalize the themes.

Next Saturday, 10/17, is our GBHS PTSA Fall Craft Fair. One of our key ingredients in making our Fall Craft Fair an outstanding success is our volunteers. Our vendors and crafters who participate in the Craft Fair rave about our students and volunteers. If your student needs volunteer hours or you just want to lend a helping hand we would love to have all the volunteers. Look over the linked SignUp Genius below to find a time that works for you and/or your Wildcat.

Last week the Virginia Department of Education recognized Great Bridge High School as a Distinguished School. As a Distinguished school in the the Commonwealth of Virginia, Great Bridge High School received top marks in each of the performance categories. According to our distinguished principal, Mrs. Black, this achievement "represents the outstanding collaboration, commitment, relationships, instruction, support, and daily work that happen throughout our building. It is the result of teachers, counselors, administrators, support staff, coaches, specialists, office staff, custodians, cafeteria staff, and everyone who shows up each day determined to make a difference for our Wildcats."
