Teresa's Boarding Services I offer boarding services for dogs while their families are away. I do not watch more than one clien I am currently in the Chesapeake area, just moved here.

My name is Teresa, and I have been boarding dogs in my home for over 8 years now - I love every minute of it. I recently moved from Portsmouth and luckily I still have many clients from Portsmouth that is willing to come to Chesapeake, from Portsmouth, to bring me their dogs to continue to board - I love them dearly. I am so happy that they wanted me to still be apart of their lives when they are

out of town and need someone they can trust to watch their babies (dogs). It is a first come first serve basis so if you are interested in me possibly watching your dog(s) you may contact me and we will set up what I call our initial meet-N-greet. It is where you and I and your dog(s) meet at my home and you and your baby(ies) are able to get a feel for me, the environment, and my surroundings. It is a great way for you to get to know me, me to get to know you and your pet(s) as well as the pet to get familiar with the smells and any noises so when they are dropped off for their first stay its not like its their first time there and it is completely unfamiliar to them. It is just my husband and I, we do not have any children. We do, however, have three ducks, a chinchilla, and a lot of fish :) We love animals and plan on extending our fur family later on down the road but right now I am focused on helping people, like yourselves, who are in need of going out of town but don't like the idea of your beloved pet boarded up in a crate most of the time that you are gone. I don't crate the animals when they are with me, I let them have free roam of the house. Whatever rules you instill at home, I make sure they are instilled in my home as well. I do require that your animals have up-to-date shots and rabies, I will need copies of them for their file. I have a small page -in-a-half form for you to fill out that can either be emailed or given in person, which ever is easier for you. It just gives me general knowledge and information about your pet(s) and their favorite things to do. They must also know basic commands and be tick and flea treated. Our Story

Hello! My name is Teresa, as you may have guessed, and this is my page. Welcome! If you’re looking for somewhere safe to place your pets while you’re on vacation or a last minute trip, you found the right place. I have been boarding animals in my home for well over 5 years now. It started out as a favor for a few of my clients while they were out of town and it grew into something so much more. They needed someone they could trust to watch their fur-babies and send them cute little pictures and video updates to let them know how they were doing and I was able to provide them with that sense of security. I am a huge animal lover. If you know me personally you know that all animals, no matter how big or small, hold a special place in my heart. I do not have any children so I treat each and every animal that comes into my home as if they were my children. This is a safe place for you to bring your pets and know they’re in good hands. I am licensed in animal CPR and first aid so rest assure if something were to happen I know all the proper protocols and procedures to keep them safe. I DO NOT discriminate against ANY type of breed. Your animals are and extension of your home and home life. Most people do not understand that the reason for bad animals is because of their owners and how they’re treated, they were not born bad.

I myself have an American Bulldog and she is the greatest, kindest, most loving dog I have ever had. We also have 3 ducks and a chinchilla (if I could have a zoo I would :D) Like I said, I do not have any children but that doesn’t mean that my animals are not my babies, they most definitely are. I work from home as a technical support representative for Apple, so I am able to be with my animals at all times. That is one of my reasons behind wanting to provide these services. I want you to be able to be at peace when you’re away from them. The peace of mind that they’re not thrown in a kennel somewhere with God knows who taking care of them and doing God knows what. Your animals will always be under consistent supervision and constant love and attention.

So, a little bit about what I do and my services. I do not crate the animals while they’re in my home, unless you have a special request to. I try to incorporate all your rules and restrictions from your home into mine so that way when they go back home they are not doing things you’re not OK with. I typically do not watch more than one client at a time meaning, if you need to book a spot and it might overlap with another’s we can handle it one of two ways: 1. schedule it so you do not overlap or 2. if you’re OK with them socializing with another pup we can set up an initial free play date where they both meet in my home in a neutral territory and we see how they react with one another. I typically bathe and trim their nails before I send them back home to you, that is at no extra charge. If you have any special requests I am more than happy to accommodate you in any way that I can. The first thing I like to do is setup an initial meet-n-greet meaning you and your animal(s) come and join me in my home and we talk, walk around the house/property and get to know one another. I don’t want the first stay your animal experiences here as a negative one. I want them to know the place they’re coming to and all the noises and smells it entails. This allows them to be a little familiar with my home so that way on drop off day, they’re not completely in the dark.

Like I said in the beginning, this is all set up so you feel your animals are safe and gives you a sense of security. I am here whenever you need me. If you have a last minute trip or emergency and it is 3a.m and you need someone to watch Sparky, call me. Many of my clients leave at hours that are a huge inconvenience for them but it will never be an issue for me. I am available 24/7 365. I have calendars setup on the site that always you to see what I have booked already. If you do not see anything booked than it is wide open. Just message me to reserve a date ;)
