Cancer treatment does not always happen close to home. For many families, getting their child to appointments means extra expenses for gas, food, and travel.

Through our Fuel for the Journey program, MomAdvocate Foundation provides gas and meal cards to help ease those burdens so families can focus on what matters most, their child.

This program supports Virginia residents and families whose child is receiving cancer treatment in Virginia.

Today marks Day 1 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 🎗️

For MomAdvocate Foundation, this month is deeply personal. We understand that a childhood cancer diagnosis affects the entire family, and no family should have to walk that journey alone.

Throughout September, we will share more about who we are, what we do, and how your support helps us show up for families when they need it most.

When childhood cancer enters a home, everything changes. As a mom who’s lived this journey, I know how quickly the little things like gas, meals, and daily expenses can become overwhelming.

That’s why we created our Fuel for the Journey program. This program is here to support families currently in treatment with Gas and Grocery assistance because getting to appointments and caring for your child shouldn’t come with added stress.

Families that need it now, please reach out. Don’t wait until it becomes too heavy, we’re here to help. And if you know a family walking this journey, please share this with them. Because no family should fight alone.

Due to an overwhelming number of tributes submitted this year, we need to move the submission deadline for the 2026 Tribute Wall up by 5 days to August 27th at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

This will help ensure that every tribute is printed, delivered, and carefully assembled by our volunteers in time for CureFest.

The good news? You still have plenty of time! The new deadline is 18 days away, and completing a submission takes only a couple of minutes.
