The St. Baldrick's Foundation is an organization with the aim of raising funds to help find cures for children with cancer. Each year, head shaving events are held all across the country to raise money. Participants can join a team and become a shavee, or simply donate to the team or participant of their choice. In 2012, our family started a team called Bald Brotherhood for the St. Baldrick's Foundation in an effort to conquer kids' cancer. Little did we know what an impact kids' cancer would have on our life. Eight years later, our son, Nolan, was diagnosed with lymphoma; and suddenly, conquering kids' cancer took on a much deeper and more passionate meaning for our family.

When Nolan's hair started to fall out, we had to shave it off, as it was just falling out in clumps. This is such an emotional and traumatic thing for a child. As a shavee, making the decision to go bald is not an easy one, but it is an incredibly beautiful sacrifice. You are letting these sweet little warriors, who are fighting the battle for their lives, know that they are not alone and you stand with them.
