Upward Sports- Great Bridge FWB Church

08/22/2026

Hey Everyone. We are considering staring up our Upward Basketball League this year and wondered if you and your family are interested. We are thinking of basketball again but are open to other sports if feasible. Feel free to drop your comments and let us know if there are other sports as well that would interest you!🔥

Good morning, all!

I am writing you this afternoon to inform you that after careful consideration, we have decided to forego an Upward Season this year. This decision comes solely based on the amount of participants that have registered and the bleak forecast that indicates. Thus far, we don't have enough registrants in each level to form two teams that would play each other week in, week out - let alone form a full schedule.

Regarding refunds - Upward will refund the payments directly to you via the method you used to pay the registration fee. I have been informed that this takes 3-4 business days to reflect.

Please keep an eye on our Upward page (Upward Sports - Great Bridge FWB Church) as we will be having age appropriate clinics led by qualified instructors throughout the Winter.

As saddening as this decision is for all of us, we hope that you will consider us next season when we, hopefully, return to full form. Stay safe, have a great Holiday Season and God Bless!

REGISTRATION IS OPEN!!!

Registration ends 11/11/2020. This year, should we have a league, we are looking at limiting admission to coaches, players and volunteers, with a live stream of every game for family and friends to watch their favorite player(s)! Feel free to share this post with friends and anyone else you think may be interested!

Response to the survey has not gone well so we are opening registration to see if that attracts more participation. The links are below and fliers will also circulate the academy.

https://registration.upward.org/UPW71297 - This link gives parents the ability to registering their child for your program from the comfort of their homes.
https://registration.upward.org/UPW71297/volunteer - This link will direct anyone interested in volunteering to the volunteer registration page.

We are currently gauging whether or not an Upward Season is feasible this year. We are considering many options regarding COVID-19 safety guidelines, one of which is limiting who can be in the gymnasium to players, coaches and volunteers while livestreaming the games for family and friends to watch. What we need from you is an indication as to whether or not you would sign up to participate under that format. Facebook's polling feature seems to be down at the moment, so please send your responses to the Commissioner at [email protected]. We will observe responses throughout the week before announcing the decision on Monday, November 2nd.
