Maryland Boatathon for Special Olympics Maryland 2013 Tom Cole & Larry Bathon traveled to Myrtle Beach and raised over $15,000. This year Larry & Tom have challenged Scott Crawford to a newmicrocruise.

In 2013 Tom Cole and Larry Bathon traveled to Myrtle Beach and raised over $15,000. This year Larry and Tom have challenged newcomer Scott Crawford to a new microcruise. All three will be traveling from Chesapeake City, MD to Nantucket Island, a trip over 1,100 miles for the benefit of the Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD). They will be departing 12:00 noon from Pell Gardens in Chesapeake City on S

aturday, September 13, 2014 for a trip that will take about one week, depending on the weather. They will all travel in their own boats of 21 feet or less with no cabins or facilities in open seas for this new challenge. The boaters are paying all of their own expenses, so all money donated will go directly to SOMD with the majority of the money raised supporting SOMD athletes and program development in Cecil County.
