Last fall the Kiwanis Club finished Doc's Bark Park located at the top of Showboat Park. The Village later topped a very large dead maple tree inside of it, leaving a 10-foot stump. This left Kiwanis with a great opportunity to partner with Jonathan Martinez at HoundsTooth Carvings to create a beautiful memorial carving. To make this carving just a bit more special, we will be selling personalized laser etched dog tags to remember your passed on 4-pawed family member. These tags will be forever mounted to the back side of Rainbow Bridge carving for you to view anytime you visit the dog park. The funds raised will help improve and maintain Doc's Bark Park. The fundraiser will be open until July 1st, or the first 100 dog tags sold.

NEW YEAR, NEW YOU?
Kiwanis is looking for community minded individuals who want to make a positive impact on the lives of the children of Chesaning. We are having our first meeting of the year on Tuesday, February 3rd at 8am. We will be meeting at Big Rock Coffee. Stop in and learn what we have planned for the New Year!

Kiwanis Club met up with 'Doc' Robert Pearson at Showboat Park to dedicate the dog park in his name and honor. We were joined by his wife Marsha and their children and spouses. Dr. Robert Pearson has been a Kiwanian for well over 40 years. We appreciate his mentorship and so many years of service as our local vet. Our dedication was on Tuesday. The park is called "Doc's Dog Park". A few more items to be added next spring - stay tuned.

Over the last year The Kiwanis Club and the Village of Chesaning have been working on installing the dog park. Recently we topped off the new park with signage. Doc's Dog Park in honor and appreciation of Dr. Robert Pearson, DVM. Dr. Pearson was the owner of Animal Healthcare on Broad St. until 1997 when Weisenberger's purchased the practice from him. Doc is a 40+ year member of the Kiwanis Club and a very active volunteer in town, including the Chesaning Museum. Thank you, Doc Pearson, for all you've done for Chesaning.
