Day 14: Fasting & Prayer
πŸ”₯πŸ’ͺ🏼 Get Busy πŸ’₯πŸš€

It is time for us to seize the opportunities 🌟 God has placed before us, to act in obedience to His commands, and to fulfill His purpose for our lives. πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ’― Never settle for what the Lord has not prepared; instead, move forward with faith and determination. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’ͺ🏼

Our foundation for getting busy and taking action is rooted in Psalm 127:1, which says, "Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted." πŸ πŸ”¨ We must recognize that our efforts will be pointless without the Lord's guidance and blessing. Therefore, before we set out, we must seek His will and align ourselves with His plans. πŸ™πŸΌβœ¨

In 2 Chronicles 20:16-17, we read the story of King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah facing a vast enemy army. In their desperation, they cried out to God, and He responded, "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." πŸ›‘οΈπŸ™ŒπŸΌ When they heard the Lord's plan, they did not hesitate but moved forward in obedience. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against their enemies, and they were defeated. This teaches us that God fights for those who take the first step in faith. πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸŽΆπŸ™πŸΌ

In 1 Samuel 17:48, "As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him." David did not wait for Goliath to come to him; instead, he ran toward the giant with full confidence in God's strength. He knew that victory was not achieved by standing still but by stepping out in faith. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ—‘οΈ When we hear God's voice and understand His plan, we must move quickly and boldly toward it, trusting that He will equip us for the task at hand. πŸ’₯πŸ™πŸΌ

In John, Jesus often emphasizes the urgency of obedience and action. He encourages His disciples to bear fruit, to love one another, and to follow His commands. We must not procrastinate when it comes to fulfilling God's purposes. Now is the time to get busy, tomorrow is not guaranteed. Let us not waste decades of our lives waiting for the perfect moment, but let us seize the opportunity to serve and glorify God today. John 9:4, "We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned to us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work." β°πŸ™πŸΌ

God has called us to a life of action and obedience. He has prepared a path for each one of us, and it is our responsibility to walk in it. Do not be discouraged by the challenges of the task ahead. Remember that the Lord fights for you, but you must take the first step. Get busy building and doing exactly what the Lord has commanded. May our lives be marked by a sense of urgency, as we move quickly towards God's calling for us. πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ’₯πŸ’«

Save the date! We have a rummage sale and souper-bowl coming up on January 25th. More details coming soon...

12/15/2023

It's been a while since I've given an update, but we've made a lot of progress in the last year. One major hold up was the water. A new line needed to be installed throughout the property, then the pump needed replaced, as well as the lines inside the dining hall and the hot water tank.

We took on a small amount of debt in an auction to acquire some kitchen equipment and a stage. We received donations that helped with paint and with putting in a concrete slab, where the coal burner will go. We are trusting the Lord to provide all that is needed to get the kitchen going in January of 2024.

We still have many needs if you're feeling lead to give. All donations are tax deductible. We are also open to used equipment donations. Some of our greatest current needs are:

Electric hot water tank

r404a refrigerant

2 showers; there are bathrooms in our dorms but not showers, just toilets, and the rest of the camp will not be winterized

Fire safety requirements; sprinkler system, exit signs, etc.

Exhaust hood cleaning ($?... I've heard this can cost thousands... so prayer for way less)

Materials to build a handicap accessible bathroom; a toilet, rails and sink have already been donated. We need wood for framing, drywall; etc.

Other needs (for dorms as well) are:

Drywall and joint compound or other ceiling material

Flooring

Ceiling fans with lights

Bunk beds/mattresses

Why Camp Ebenezer?

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." - Matthew 22:36-40

If you don’t know how to love or you do not love yourself, how can you honor these commandments?

Everyone has a story and has overcome challenges, but sometimes we all get stuck and need help. Some people are very resillient and overcome their struggles easily. Others have had so many obstacles to overcome, they no longer possess the hope they need to persevere. They believe in God but don’t believe he is for them.

Camp Ebenezer is founded on the idea that the helpers and those they want ot help can learn from each other. God is love, and he commands us to love. He also teaches us to love, and we need love to grow. We also need to get out of our comfort zone to learn and grow.
