Mercy Project India

Mercy Project India Uniting Christians to end modern-day slavery Additional funds can be donated to assist with the cost of medical care for the 7 children that are HIV positive.

Mercy Project India is a project of The Mercy Project ATL, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, that currently encompasses a child sponsorship program and adult education scholarship program in India. The child sponsorship program is for 60 children that live in two orphanages, operated by Pastor Timothy Jalam of Prahbat Tara Sanstha in Miraj and Sangli. $30.00 per month helps to pay for meals at t

he orphanage, clothing, and housing. A 2nd sponsorship of $30.00 per month covers educational expenses including books, uniforms, and supplies, as well as another meal at school. The adult education scholarship program is for women who currently live in the slum / red light district of Miraj. Many of these women are the product of generations upon generations of s*x slavery and extreme poverty. We currently have a program coordinator in Miraj and a local pastor that work with these women to feed them spiritually, encourage, counsel, and assist them in applying for their scholarships and enrolling in their classes. We are so excited to give this wonderful news of Reshma Narendra Kamble [L] & Rajashree Prabhu Pawar [R] enter a graduate program in Nursing college!

Reshma is an orphan. Her parents had burnt themselves alive in a dispute and had died. Reshma was in the 6 th grade when she and her 2 younger sisters were brought to the Home of Hope to be cared, loved and educated.

Rajashree's mother is a commercial s*x worker of Miraj red light area. The mother had left Rajashree and her younger sister and brother when they were little with the father who is an abusive drinker and is sick. So Rajashree and her siblings were also brought to the Home of Hope when they were little .

Pursuing a professional training and becoming a full fledged Nurse will empower and give them an identity in the society. And they will be free from the shackles of the social stigma! Please pray for them.

The Mercy Project Atlanta and the Home of Hope India want to immensely thank You for your valuable support and in making this beautiful transition possible!
