Step back in time at the Village. Our knowledgeable tour guides, dressed in 18th century attire, guide you through the Village. Alo
ng the way, you'll meet renowned Cherokee artisans demonstrating traditional Cherokee crafts such as finger-weaving, basket-making, and pottery. Take a step inside replicas of Cherokee cabins and other buildings. Inside the Council House, you'll learn about our government and matriarchal society. Finish your tour at the square grounds where you'll learn about our belief system, clans, and social dances. Oconaluftee Indian Village is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm from April 22 through November 1, 2025

Unto These Hills:
Unto These Hills is the third oldest outdoor drama in the country. Sit under the stars at our beautiful and historic Mountainside Theatre and watch a tale of Cherokee history come to life. Unto These Hills tells the story of the formation of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, who still live here today, from first contact with Europeans through the years following the infamous Trail of Tears. The show features dramatic battle reenactments, beautiful dance interpretations, and a talented cast and crew. *Please note, the show includes flashing lights and loud noises, including gunshots.*
Unto These Hills is open May 31 through August 23, 2025 The show starts at 8pm with preshow entertainment starting at 7:30pm.
