🚒🔥 Sound the sirens! Compass Point Preschool had some very special visitors today! ❤️👨‍🚒
We were excited to welcome Cheraw Fire Department’s Chief Brian Harper, Lieutenant Michael Byrd, and Sparky the Fire Pup to Compass Point Preschool! 🐾🚒
Our little learners had a wonderful time learning about fire safety, meeting our local heroes, and seeing the important work our firefighters do to keep our community safe. These special visits help our children learn valuable lessons while making memories they’ll never forget! 🧯❤️
A HUGE thank-you to Chief Harper, Lieutenant Byrd, and Sparky for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit our preschool and make today so much fun! We are grateful for the brave men and women who serve and protect our community! 👏🇺🇸

CCFS PAT is seeking families to work with starting October 2026.

If you are currently pregnant, have a child, newborn to not yet enrolled in 5K, reach out to schedule an in-take visit. We'll come to you and tell you more about this wonderful PAT program.

You can also reach out to our Certified PAT Parent Educators, Bobbi McKenzie Hoffman, Jacqueline Funderburk or Heather Gainey to learn more information. This is our same great team that Chesterfield County Families have been working with since 2022. We have just transitioned to a new evidenced based parenting program.

What a wonderful afternoon filled with love, laughter, wisdom, and JOY! Our 2nd Annual Goodies with Grandparents event was such a special celebration of the incredible role grandparents play in the lives of our children. 🥰
We loved welcoming our students’ grandparents and special loved ones to Compass Point for an afternoon of sweet treats, special memories, and plenty of smiles! We showed our appreciation by preparing delicious goodies, followed by an exciting game of BINGO with some fun prizes! 🎉🏆
Thank you to all of our amazing grandparents for sharing your time, your hugs, and your love with our little ones. You truly make their lives brighter and help create memories they will treasure for years to come. ❤️

Honor Dolly today!

Dolly Parton intended for EVERY young child to get books mailed to their homes. Families are eagerly signing up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, but we need your help to move children from the waitlist to the reading list. While the Dollywood Foundation provides infrastructure, local agencies like us, Chesterfield County First Steps, must still fundraise to buy the books.
That's why we're launching Give a Book, Grow a Reader, a campaign to raise $5,000 in 50 days. Help us enroll more young children in Chesterfield County and support mailing each of them a new children's book monthly.

We were so excited to welcome the Chesterfield County Library System Bookmobile to Compass Point Preschool for the very first time this school year! ❤️
Our little learners had a wonderful time exploring the bookmobile, discovering new books, and experiencing the joy of reading in a whole new way. 📖✨

What a wonderful start to a new school year at Compass Point Preschool! 💙
The first few days have been filled with new faces, new friends, big smiles, and lots of exciting discoveries! From exploring our classrooms to learning new routines, playing, creating, and getting to know one another, our little learners are already settling in and making special memories. 🥰

Chesterfield First Steps had a wonderful time participating in the Chesterfield County Library's Reading Revolution event today in Chesterfield!
Reading opens the door to imagination, learning, and lifelong success, and we were excited to join families and community partners in celebrating the joy of books and literacy.

The Reading Revolution continues all week long with events taking place throughout Chesterfield County. We encourage families to bring their children out to enjoy fun activities, discover new books, and create lasting memories together.
