Our Story
The Cowgirl Up Rodeo Drill Team was founded in January 2012 by Christine Rodko.
Since its inception, this team has evolved to include many young ladies from the ages of 10 up to the”young at heart”. The primary goal is to support, mentor, and teach riders of all ages about the incredible art of drill team riding.
The focal point of Drill Team is to join the love of horses and horsemanship into an experience for the rider, horse and audience. By mentoring and teaching riders, with instruction based on having fun, making friends, safety, horsemanship and working together, the riders become a cohesive group in a positive and thoughtful manner.
The Cowgirl Up Cowgirls perform a fast paced choreographed routine carrying team flags in addition to carrying sponsor flags and the American flag at local rodeos, equine events and parades.
The Cowgirl Up Rodeo Drill Team wears red, white and blue costumes in honor of the service men and women of the United States military for their outstanding accomplishments, courage, and dedication to our country. The team also rides to thank our nation's veterans, POW's, and MIA's for the sacrifices they have made.
We are the land of the free because of the BRAVE!
We are mothers, daughters...we ARE the Cowgirl Up Cowgirls, and we put faith in God, our Country, and the amazing horses we ride!
