🎙️⚓ A big thank you to Marc from the All Across America Podcast for inviting our Portland Port Chaplain, Jasper J. DelCarlino, onto the show!

We appreciate the opportunity to spread awareness about the challenges seafarers face while working at sea and how organizations like Seafarer's Friend can support them when they sail into our ports.

🚢 Take a listen, learn more about the people behind the ships, and help us spread the word!

Hey, we know these guys! It’s our friends Deejhay and Ralf! 👋⚓

Thank you, Saint John Seafarers Mission and Mission to Seafarers Mission To Seafarers Canada, for taking the time to visit them! It’s wonderful to see our fellow maritime ministries helping seafarers feel welcomed, supported, and cared for while they’re far from home. ❤️

Deejhay and Ralf, along with Paolo, Romeo, and Charton, will be signing off on their next visit to Boston and heading home to spend Christmas with their families, a rare and special blessing for seafarers!

Enjoy every moment, friends! We’ll see you in the new year! 🎄❤️

From left to right: Rev. Canon Peter Rouch, Secretary General of The Mission to Seafarers, DJ, Rob and myself as Peter and I visited the New England on Sunday, September 27. These two bright Filipino seafarers are beyond excited to be heading home after 8.5 months away from wives and children. Once again I come away from a ship visit with heart full of appreciation for what seafarers do to keep our world functioning and our material needs filled.

As a storm approaches New England, would you take a moment to join us in prayer for seafarers here in our ports and around the world? 🙏⚓️🌊

May God protect every crew, guide every vessel, and bring each seafarer safely through any storm they may face.

You never know who might show up to pick you up in Portland! 😂🧔‍♂️

Port Chaplain Jasper decided to have a little fun while welcoming crew—and the fake beard definitely made the ride more memorable!

Seafarer ministry is about practical support, but it is also about friendship, laughter, and helping crew feel at home while they are far from theirs. We’re grateful for every smile and moment shared along the way.
