As we head toward the colder months, one of my biggest hopes is to get the inside of Samarah’s Cottage completed.
Our heart is for this little house to be used in two ways — as a place for people from near or far to come and stay when they are walking through grief or a difficult season, and also as a place for our local community to gather. After our worship night on Monday, I’m even more excited about the possibility of smaller women’s gatherings, prayer nights, conversations around the table, and simply making room for people to come and be.
We’ve come a long way, but we still have a ways to go.
The PEACE ROOM + bathroom are about 90% complete.
The HOPE ROOM still needs sheets, comforters, a rug, sleeper sofa and several of the things that will make it feel finished and welcoming.
The LIVING ROOM is completely empty right now and needs… well, pretty much everything. 😅
The KITCHEN is about 70% there, but we still need some of the practical things like knives, a garbage can, Dutch oven, coffee maker, toaster and more.
We have already received some incredibly thoughtful donations that have helped us get this far, and we are so grateful. We’ve also personally put into the Cottage all that we can for right now.
And the reality is, we’ve reached the point where we need some help to finish it. 🤍
Asking isn’t particularly comfortable for us, but we also know we can’t do everything on our own. So I put together a registry with specific things still needed for the Cottage. If you feel led to purchase something — big or small — it would mean so much to us and would help us get one step closer to opening these doors.
And please know there is absolutely no pressure to give. More than anything, we would treasure your prayers — for provision, wisdom, and for every person God already knows will someday walk through the doors of Samarah’s Cottage.
We just want to be faithful with this little place He has entrusted to us. 🤍
