It’s the Season!

It takes a village to help! Unfortunately right now this is the norm for the majority of rescue groups and shelters! Please check your change purse…or just share this post!

This is the face of a rescuer who is tired and exhausted. More than anything I'm tired of people being rude when we tell them we are unable to help. Yes I am a rescue. Yes I signed on for this job. I have limitations just like anybody else. There is only so much I can handle as far as number of animals and the expense that goes along with providing their care. We are in desperate need of Supply donations, donations that can be made to our veterinarian count, adoptive families and Foster families. We are also in need of anyone able to volunteer. I am currently responsible for 50+ animals. 20 of those animals are at the rescue and the remainder are in foster homes throughout the county. We are drowning! I need more people to be proactive and try to provide assistance and not just look for somebody to solve the problem. I'm not trying to sound rude in any way. The majority of our animals are too young or are sick and are not eligible for adoption at this time. The animals that we have that are healthy are needing to be altered and we are trying to get them into clinics. Until we can get our Veterinary balance down I am unable to schedule more surgeries. Thankfully we do have our appointment at Dano Law Firm on the 14th to start the nonprofit status.

Pit Bull’s get a bad rap…I admit I was one of “those” people that was bias of them! Believed the stigma! But in doing research about service dogs for my daughter I was smacked in the face with the harsh truth about this breed! As I write this post my Pitty baby is snoring loudly next to me and my heart swells with love for her! She’s even made my husband a dog lover! He’s always been a cat guy! But this dog is his baby! Makes me question our 30 year marriage sometimes! Our shelters our over crowded, even more so now because another harsh truth is Covid puppies/dogs are being surrendered because owners simply just don’t have time for them now that they’ve gone back to work! Pit Bulls are the 1st to be put down because people aren’t educated enough about this breed and unfortunately 80% of euthanized dogs are Pit Bull type dogs. Please consider giving one of these gentle souls a home! Or sponsor one! Or even just volunteer at your local shelter and give on some love there! Thank you
