Meet Rohn Amegatcher, a Lewis County farmer who runs Log Hollow Farms. As the outcome of his life experiences, social observations, and commitment to public service, he began with the concept of a permaculture farm as a platform to create a new 3-year model of post-secondary education to fit along the current 2 and 4-year models. Rohn created York College Foundation to organize and build York College of Agriculture and Technology. This model develops students innate talents by letting them run the college and farm as a town they build. Learn more about the project at yorkcollegefoundation.org.

Service. Each of us can be of service- to yourself, family, community, the earth. In our own way, we can uplift, support and make better. Today service took the form of clean up crews, over 200 people, throughout the city of Centralia after recent floods. It felt good to be there.

Another way to serve is to support projects that impact whole communities and improve lives. York College is such a project. Imagine a new way to look at secondary education where students lead their learning while being supported by industry experts. Picture a place that welcomes young adults who have been “othered” by society and gives them room to discover themselves and grow their innate talents. This is York College. Give service by supporting this important project.

Yesterday's art auction for the was a resounding success. Painting sales raised nearly $3000 for the organization. This lovely lady, and her grandson, took home three works!
