Our Story:
Ronnie, Joe and Larry founded Saving Smiles (SSI) while attending the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Since its inception, Saving Smiles has set out on a mission to financially assist underserved children who have undergone cancer treatment and are now in remission. Ronnie Lowe is President and CEO of Saving Smiles. He is from Middletown, New York and graduated summa c
um laude from Le Moyne College in 2016 with a BS in Biology and minors in Business Administration, Chemistry and Philosophy. During his first year of dental school he took a course entitled, “Psychosocial Issues in Dentistry.” It was during this class that he realized many children throughout the world are impacted by cancer each year. Many of these children develop oral problems due to various treatment methods. Joe Meluni is Vice President and CFO of Saving Smiles. He is from Syracuse, New York and graduated summa cm laude from SUNY Geneseo in 2016 with a BS in Chemistry. Joe's Catholic faith has always been a strong factor in his desire to serve the disadvantaged and give back to the community. He believes that SSI provides a great opportunity to combine his professional interests with his personal goals. Larry Nguyen is COO and Lead Outreach Coordinator of Saving Smiles. He also is from Syracuse, New York and graduated magna cm laude from the University at Buffalo Honors College. Larry graduated with a BS in Biochemistry in 2016. During his undergraduate career, Larry was very involved with organizations that would aid underprivileged individuals. Using this experience, Larry thought SSI was a perfect embodiment of his desire to help others.
