Today I was humbled and honored to attend the Annual Veterans Day breakfast which CHEF has supported $$ for many years.
It was a wonderful way to show love and appreciation for our veterans♥️🇺🇸💙

I was honored to have the opportunity to address the faculty and staff of Cleveland Hill the week.
CHEF is a Donor Choice through the United Way campaign every year. Anyone can take advantage of this easy means of supporting us this way.
This is our main fundraiser. Any other funding comes to us via alumni and/or community member donations.
ALL funds go directly towards grant requests we receive and then approve, from our faculty and staff.
Since we incorporated in 1998 we have awarded over $160,000 to our school community.
So far in 2024 we have awarded $9,461 in grants already.

No matter the size, we are so very grateful for any donations that will enable us to continue to fund the requests that come our way.

CHEF has just awarded 2 grant requests for the upcoming school year totaling $6,200.
The Cleveland Hill students will be experiencing an author visit and a program designed to help make the transition from Elementary School to Middle School a smooth one.

Greetings to all in this sunny, but brisk day!
It seems that we have finally come out of our “Covid Hibernation” period… at least I hope so !
I’m writing to update you on CHEF’s recent efforts.
We continue to receive awesome grant requests from the faculty at Cleveland Hill offering wonderful opportunities for the students from Elementary thru to High School.
Here is a summary of the requests we’ve received just this year!

One of our largest donations was made to purchase a new piano for the district, in order to replace an aging instrument. And we purchased a cover to protect the refurbished grand piano which is in the auditorium.
This was made possible because of a generous family donating to CHEF and specifically asking us to use it for the music dept.

We continue to support the efforts of students and faculty to put on the annual school musical.

We have a recent request to help support the activities for a Post Prom celebration.

The HS Science/physics dept has requested funding for a trip to Darien Lake to see first hand/ real world use of Science in action.

The Second Grade Page Turner Club will be experiencing an authors visit .

We continue to support the High School Aerie yearbook annually.

We fund the Veterans Day breakfast annually.

We have helped fund an attendance initiative to help students realize how important it is to be present in the classroom.

At the High school level we funded a visit/workshop from poet laureate Jillian Hanesworth.

We funded the WEB program at the beginning of the school year.

That’s just to give you all an idea of how CHEF has given back to our school community this past year.

Needless to say we could not fund these efforts without the generosity of donors.
We are so very grateful to ALL who have supported CHEF for these past decades!

CHEF has already had a busy year awarding some major grant requests❣️
We honored a donors request to support the CH music department by purchasing a new piano in the family’s honor, along with a protective cover for the 100 year old baby grand that has been in use at school. With many more items the music department asked for.

We funded the Annual Veterans Day event in the ES library, and the Mothers Day plant event.

We supported the MS WEB program again this year.
Today we awarded 2 grants to bring in a poet and an author visit.
Needless to say ALL of these events and more could not happen without the generous donations made by faculty, staff, alumni and community members.

CHEF supported this years POST Prom event. The committee decided to use our donation to rent an inflatable Hunry Hungry Hippos game.
The report is that the kids loved it and had a blast.
We are thrilled that the kiddos had an opportunity to “just be kids” last night❣️

In 2021 CHEF we awarded the Third grade Elementary literacy dept $568 to be used to support the Orton Gillingham Program.
This is a reading intervention program, systematic phonics intervention that requires reading passages to support the skills taught.
Teachers will purchase more materials from “Teachers pay Teachers” which has high quality resources they can to help make the program more exceptional.
