NYACCE Board Members Lia Festenstein and Katie LaBonte had the honor of presenting Jon Cardinal, Economic Development Director for Senator Charles Schumer, with COABE’s Legislative Champion Award. Jon accepted this award on behalf of Senator Schumer, recognizing his steadfast commitment to advancing adult education.

We are grateful to Senator Schumer’s office for their unwavering support of adult learners and educators across New York and beyond. During our visit, we had the opportunity to share powerful stories and demonstrate the life-changing impact of adult education.

Katie and Lia left the meeting confident in their continued support—and energized to keep advocating for the programs and people that make lifelong learning possible.
