The Harvest Dinner was a great success with 48 people!! The decorations were great, the food was plentiful and delicious as always but we were having such a good time eating and talking with one another we forgot to take photos!!! Oh well, trust us, if you weren’t able to make it you missed a great one!!

This is just for your awareness for this evening. I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to see the northern lights all summer and tonight might just be that night. Unfortunately, we do have some clouds. But I would encourage you to go out and take a look anyway cause you never know! I just took a screenshot of my Aurora app And we are that little blue dot. Seeing the green and the orange I’d say there’s a great possibility, but now I’m seeing red on there that gets me more excited!  I would also encourage you to follow or join the group the Michigan Aurora chasers group or more information. They are the ones that I learned of this from. 9-15-26

A question recently came through my text message regarding to placing a post out here on the Cordwood point page.

Please note, only administrators are able to post directly to the page because that is how the page was set up. If anyone has any questions regarding Cordwood Point that is not board related, please feel free to message us on the Cordwood Point messenger service for Facebook and we will be happy to put it out there.

If your concern is anything to do with board related concerns, we will ask you to then email the board. Their email address is in our about section.

The question that came through was regarding to the big orange buoy type things out in the lake. Please know that has nothing to do with Cordwood Point.

I did a simple search on Google and found that it may have to do with commercialized fishing for white fish. These are called Gill Nets. In order to place these nets out there, they need to be state licensed.

My Google search was DNR nets in Lake Huron, and I found out what could have been easily looked up otherwise.

I would suggest looking up Michigan Sea Grant.

I was out on my paddleboard the other day, and we had gone out to these buoys and verified that they were indeed nets.
