Newsletters are being delivered!!! Yay!!! Please be diligent to read this newsletter as it has information regarding to new clubs, activities planned for the 2026 summer season and information regarding to who is running for the board this season. There is a little summary on each candidate within the newsletter.

There is also information regarding to the short term rentals and the vote on them.

This is your chance to have a say and what happens in our community! Very important, please vote! The annual meeting will take place on June 27, 2026. Beginning at 9:30 AM there is a coffee and meet the candidates session and then at 10 AM The meeting will commence.  this is a great time to come and meet your neighbor and those in your community.

Please come and be present and have a voice in YOUR community!

One of the most recent questions coming through on the page has been regarding to the newsletter. These are supposed to be sent out and receive 30 days prior to the first annual meeting, which is at the end of June. A lot of us has not received the newsletter. As this page is not affiliated with the HOA board, I don’t have your answers. I would encourage you to email the board.

The information regarding to the Cordwood Point Association webpage and the email are both listed in the about section on this page. I would encourage you to email them. 

Only Administrators to the page can post directly to the page. If you have anything that you would like to share please feel free to message the page and the admin will post it as long as it has to do with Cordwood Point. If you are in town, taking a picture and wanna share that, you can do so on your own page, however, if you are in Cordwood at one of the parks and you see something really cool or you’re taking a walk and you wanna recognize someone’s lovely garden please feel free to send us a message and we will be happy to share it with the page.

All HOA board questions should be directed to the HOA board. If you are interested in running for the board, I will be happy to post something here on the page to get the conversation going.

If you haven’t gotten out to the woods, especially up near Ridgeview, the trilliums are blooming! I just love this part of spring where you get to see these phenomenal little flowers pop up! Yesterday, Saturday, May 30 I was honestly so jealous of the folks out there on kayaks it was such a beautiful day for it! So I got to watch you from park two.

It’s that time again for our welcome back to summertime dinner at Roses!! This is an awesome event where you get to share a delicious dinner with your neighbors of Cordwood Point. Hope to see you there!

Hello and happy May to all of my Cordwood Point Neighbors! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, but summer is almost here! We are almost at the end of May! And what does that mean!? That means it is almost time for our annual pancake breakfast at the clubhouse! You heard that right! It is time for the annual pancake breakfast for association members at the Cordwood Point Clubhouse Saturday May 23, 2026.  this event signals the beginning of our summer season! More to come, stay tuned!

A question came regarding flooding concerns in Cordwood Point. Most flooding has impacted most low lying areas west of downtown Cheboygan with an evacuation order issued for the Little Black River watershed. If your lot is low lying, it may be effected.

Most waterways in Northern Michigan are impacted. Please be safe out there! Just because water may be covering the road doesn’t mean to cross it , some roads are completely washed out and not enough signs by the county are available to stop anyone from driving through.

From what I hear from those who are year round residents, they are not concerned about the Point.

From what I understand, our area is not flooding. Just a few large puddles from the snow melt.

⚠️EVACUATION NOTICE:

The County Office of Emergency Management has issued a notice to evacuate low areas now due to a levee breach of the Little Black River Watershed, unrelated to current activities at Cheboygan Dam and Lock. Please leave your residence and travel south of the City of Cheboygan.

Affected Areas:

US-23 shoreline from approximately Pries Landing south to the Cheboygan River, down to Lincoln St., back along Court St., to Levering Rd., and Inverness Trail, up to the US-23 Shoreline. (See Map)

When you evacuate, please leave a towel or some type of fabric on the door handle visible from the road. If you are unable to evacuate, dial 9-1-1 for assistance.

First responders are currently assisting with evacuation efforts.
