It is an ancient custom
When a Brother Mason passes way,
That he no longer wears his Apron
And his tools they quietly lay.
But I beg of you my Brothers
Closest family and Loved ones to,
That I must wear my Apron
For I have yet so much to do.
Though I may not have it on
The day I meet my fate,
I'll be pennyless and destitute
As I pass that pearly gate.
For the Grand Master has sent me a summons
On that very day,
And as in my obligations
You know I must obey.
That Grand Lodge will be called and opened
For my final Degree,
So I must be properly clothed
For the Grand Tyler to admit me.
Don't bury me without my Apron
My tools must not lay rest,
For it's in that Grand Lodge above
Where I must work my best.

Today, Freemasons celebrate the birthday of Prince Hall, the namesake founder of Prince Hall Freemasonry. In honor of the day, here are some facts about Prince Hall Freemasonry in Pennsylvania (Prince Hall PA), which has been active in the state for 200+ years!
- Like The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, F & AM, the Prince Hall Grand Lodge is also located on Broad St. The two Grand Lodges occupy different ends of the street and are about 20 minutes driving distance apart from each other.
- Well-known Prince Hall Freemasons in Pennsylvania include former Philadelphia mayor Rev. Brother W. Wilson Goode Sr., who was made a Mason-at-sight in 1993.

Did You Know...
Mickey Mouse was never a Freemason, but he was a member of DeMolay, a Masonic youth organization. Mickey’s creator, Walt Disney, was active in DeMolay in his youth and inducted into the DeMolay Legion of Honor.
In 1931, Mickey appeared in a series of strips sporting the DeMolay insignia. The strips and individual drawings of Mickey with the insignia were signed by Walt himself.
The only organization Mickey was ever identified with in any comic strip was the DeMolay.
