The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce will host a Town Hall from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on May 12 to share preliminary updates on its redesign of industry-recognized credentials.
Through a statewide survey released in March and focus groups and interviews with hundreds of stakeholders, the Department gathered feedback from educators, administrators, and employers who interact with the K-12 credential system every day. This town hall is designed to inform school and district leaders, as well as interested employers/business leaders, about the credential redesign process, the stakeholder engagement that has occurred and will continue to occur, and preview coming school supports.
This session will provide a preview of the draft framework for selecting high-value, industry-recognized credentials and a preview of the Department’s plan to help schools through the transition.
