NALC Branch 62 invited its members to a dinner cruise on the Southern Belle Saturday night January 5th. The Branch was wanting to thank them all for their membership to the NALC. It was also a chance to relax and have a great time with friends after the long hard holiday mail season.

The Postal Service expects to have delivered more than 900 million packages between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.

Come join us at the Federal Courthouse at 900 Georgia Ave. Our rally will be from 4 to 6 pm on Columbus Day Oct 8th. We will be out in force to let our Representatives know that the USPS is not for sale.

Tonight Branch 62 was honored to present a 30 year membership pin to Financial Secretary Rick Wilhoite. Rick has served as an officer of the Branch for most of his time in the Union. Rick is a strong union advocate and has mentored many fellow members in what it means to be Union Strong. Rick has been an asset to our Branch and we are fortunate to have his dedication and time. Rick had sacrificed a lot for this Branch and we are very thankful.

Tonight we had a special guest at our monthly business meeting. Eddie Davidson, Legislative Political Organizer for Regions 8,9,13, spoke to the members present on the current political environment. He talked about the budget proposals that could affect your retirement, current resolutions that favor our way of life, and the importance in contributing to the Letter Carriers Political Fund. Some of our members that were already giving, upped their contributions. We also signed up some new members giving to the fund through payroll deductions. If you are not giving the the LCPF, please talk to your steward or one of the Branch officers and find out why this so important to what we enjoy today.

Last month, Branch 62 was honored to award a 40yr service pin to Kenny Wileman at the main Branch meeting. Thank you Kenny for your dedication to the NALC and your continued membership with Branch 62

It was great to see some of our retirees at the annual luncheon. We would love to see more of the retirees at this event. It is always great to hear what is going on and hear all the stories of how it was "back in the day." We will do it again next year so hope to see more of you then. Congratulations to Pete Desantis for his 30 year membership in the NACLC
