We were pleased to attend Hamilton County Mayor’s Office Mayor Wamp's State of the County address hosted earlier this week at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

From career readiness to outdoor recreation, Mayor Wamp addressed several initiatives that enhance community success and quality of life in Hamilton County and the surrounding region.

A panel discussion with Mayor Wamp, State Senator Bo Watson, TNECD Commissioner Stuart McWhorter, TDOT Commissioner Will Reid, and TDEC Commissioner David Salyers underscored the importance of county/state collaboration and highlighted several topics that impact the tri-state, including:

📌Prioritization and investment in infrastructure projects that quality of life and the economy.

📌Career and technical education that supports workforce development for industry in the region.

The "economic ecosystem" of outdoor recreation that blends history, natural resources, and wildlife as Hamilton County introduces McDonald Farm, the county's fifth state park.

Thank you for the thoughtful conversation! We look forward to continuing to support communities across Hamilton County and the tri-state as they create places people are proud to call home for generations to come.

Communities across our region are facing major decisions around growth, energy, and emerging technologies. During Thrive’s “Yes, And...” Spring Forum: Thoughtfully Preparing Communities for Energy & AI on May 1, speaker Peter J. Hubbard of the Georgia Public Service Commission emphasized the importance of helping communities make “no regret decisions” that support long-term resilience and local priorities.

In a recent op-ed, Thrive's President/CEO Bridgett Massengill expands on the civic dialogue from the forum, encouraging leaders with perspective to navigate change thoughtfully and proactively.
